Genki de ii ne:)
Ohayou Minna, how are you doing?:) Work's been kinda draining so I'm a little late, but I have more to share today =) And I love how it's not even February yet and there are already Cadbury eggs to eatXD Every year I swear I'll never eat them again...but by the time they reappear somehow my appetite has mysteriously recovered;P Yes, I'm living on sugar energyXD Whatever works..;P

Today's selections are: the MMA from 07.01.13 with Aiba and Sho and Miyuki;) Which, by the way, is apparently all part of her nefarious plot to dethrone our reigning MMA kingsXD

Aiba/Sho: Arashi's assault, Children's dinner!
Sho: There it is, we did it this week too!
Aiba: I might have seen a ghost earlier.
[writing: Ghost?!]
Sho: For example, what kind of ghost would you see?
Aiba: I feel an amazing prescence, even now! (writing)
Sho: Even now?!
Aiba: Kind of the prescence of an old lady... (writing) I feel an amazingly spiteful gaze ne.
Miyuki: You said 'old lady' didn't you! (writing) You're rude ne~! Hi there, I'm Ichihara Etsuko. (writing)
[Announcer: An unsteady appearance, it's Ichihara Etsuko-san, or rather super housewife Kousaka Miyuki-san!
writing: Housewife experience, 12 years.]
Miyuki: Try putting a little bit of oil on your hands and see. (writing)
[Announcer: Last time when she was fighting against Arashi on 'kodomo no bangohan' as a real-life housewife she
was constantly putting right Arashi's mistakes, and she remembers her wrath! writing: As a real-life housewife
she cannot forgive Arashi!]
Kiriko: That's terrible!
[Announcer: So due to that she's come to give them a lesson in managing the home! writing: Beating down Arashi
with the true essence of a housewife!]
Miyuki: I was thinking if you can't properly look from side to side, then I guess you can't properly cook dinner.
(writing)
Sho: That doesn't have anything to do with dinner does it! (writing)
Aiba: No connection.
Sho: No connection at all.
Miyuki: You jsut go 'bish bish'! You're wrong! That's not it! (writing)
Aiba: You're going to be coaching us?
Miyuki: That's right.
Sho: But it's okay. Because we came here and we can do it! (writing)
Miyuki: That's one one thing right now that you're being half-assed about! (writing)
[writing: Half-assed...]
Aiba: Half-assed?
[Announcer: In place of parents who are busy everyday, Arashi cooks dinner. Arashi's Assault, Children's Dinner!
(writing).]
Sho: Everyone in Arashi, hello.
AIba: Hello.
Sho: Ah, Kousaka-san's name isn't on here.
Miyuki: Hello from me too<3 (writing)
Sho: Hello;P
Aiba: 'Hello from me too';P
Sho: 'I have a son and a daughter, as well as two dogs.'
[writing: Saitama-ken, Ageo-shi. Father, Yokota Tetsuya (35), company man; Mother, Yokota Mio (31), housewife.
They want to go to their pet's periodic check-up. Announcer: This time it's a request from Yokota-san living in
Ageoshi. They want them to cook dinner while they take their pet dog to his periodic check-up. Which means that,
without delay the three of them head to the house. writing: Narrator, Abe Chiyo-san (FujiTV annoucner)]
Miyuki: Amazing~.
Aiba: Yay~! Hello!
Sho: Hello!
Tetsuya: Hello~.
Mio: Hello.
Sho: We're Arashi.
Aiba: Father, you're young ne?
Tetsuya: No, I'm not young.
Mio: He's not young.
Aiba: Are you in your twenties?
Tetsuya: No, I'm in my thirties. (writing)
Aiba: You're in your thirties?
Tetusya: Yes.
Miyuki: Your thirties is young>< (writing)
Aiba: That's right.
Sho: There's some bite in those words older sister. (writing)
Miyuki: Is that so?
Aiba: What's your name? What do they call you?
Kai: Yokota Kai!
Aiba/Miyuki: Kai-kun?
Aiba: Kai-kun huh?
Miyuki: Like that?
Aiba: And your older sister?
Kai: Fuu!
Aiba: So Fuu-chan! That's nice ne.
Miyuki: That's a cute name ne~.
[Announcer: Here are the Yokota household's friendly siblings (writing), first daughter Fuu-chan and first son
Kai-kun. writing: First daughter Fuu-chan (7), tom-boy, favorite food - curry; first son Kai-kun (5), contrary,
favorite food - tuna. Announcer: But it seems that the siblings are united in their dislik for a certain food...
(writing)]
Mio: They dislike little bones, so they kind of dislike grilled fish... (writing)
Aiba: Grilled fish...
Sho: Grilled fish ne.
Kai: Fish grilled! (writing)
Aiba: He said it backwards-
Sho: Today looks like it's going to be a lot of trouble! (writing)
Miyuki: Amazing huh.
Sho: My tension's really high!
Aiba: You can't get through to him...
Miyuki: Kind of like Casey Takamine? (writing; a comedian, who's now in his 70s)
[writing: old! (referring to the reference she made)
Sho: That's old!
Miyuki: Old?
[Announcer: Which means that today's theme is the children's disliked grilled fish. Uh-huh, this seems both wide
and deep! writing: Request from the mother, she wants them to make the children eat their diliked grilled fish!
Announcer: Father and mother leave the kids behind and heead for the veterinarian. (writing) writing: Arashi's
Assault, Children's Dinner]
Aiba: What do you want to eat? Ne?
Miyuki: What do you want to eat-
Fuu: Anything's fine! (writing)
Kai: Sushi! (writing)
Aiba: Anything's fine? But you know, we have to put fish in what you eat.
Sho: It's got to be fish.
Aiba: Um ne, Fuu-chan's been kicking my knees for awhile now... (writing)
[writing: Dangerous!]
Sho: You can't break them ne.
Aiba: Right there, that's- that hurts!
Miyuki: Speaking of grilled fish, what then? (writing) Spanish mackerel? Spanish mackerel?
Sho: Ah! Pike! (writing)
Miyuki: Pike?
Aiba: Pike ne?
Miyuki: Pike?
Fuu: Poop! (writing)
Sho: Couldn't we do pike?
Kai: Poop! (writing)
Aiba: Pike?
Kai: Poop! (writing)
Aiba: Poop? Be quiet!
Fuu: Poop!
Miyuki: What will you do with the pike? (writing) Dip it in soy sauce and broil it?
Sho: Salt-grilled fish! (writing) Salt-grilled fish.
Miyuki: The soy sauce- salt-grilled?
Aiba: Salt-grilled pike is really easy. (writing)
Sho: Because they hate it right? We'll get them to eat the little bones. Calcium, calcium.
[Announcer: Sakurai-kun is fighting and adult-like, simple battle. What he's decided on is the basic of grilled
fish, salt-grilled pike! (writing) Opposing him, Aiba-kun has...]
Aiba: Meuniere! (writing; French cuisine, name for both the preparation and the sauce) Something like meuniere.
Miyuki: It's fish ne.
Kai: Salmon~!
Miyuki: Well then! For something like salmon meuniere...it's would be good to dip it in flour and grill it. (writing)
Aiba: Then that's what I'll do! That's what I'll do.
Sho: Salmon meuniere, yay~!
[Announcer What Aiba-kun has picked is something easy for the kids to eat, salmon meuniere. (writing) So, now
that the menu has been decided the five of them go to the nearby supermarket to gather up the ingredients they'll
need. (writing)]
Fuu: Put in salmon.
Aiba: Ne, today, today...today- hey, listen you!
[writing: My pace]
Aiba: Today, today...hey...we're choosing fish, fish ne.
Miyuki: uwa, look look. Cheap! (writing)
Sho: 78yen.
Miyuki: 78yen! Isn't that super super cheap?
[writing: Pike; with it's high nutritional value and low cost it's a popular fish; it's peak is in the fall from about
September to November. Announcer: The season when Pike is most delicious is almost over. If possible, pick places
that have fresher fish. So then, what are the points to watch for when choosing? (writing)]
Sho: Eh, I dont't know anything at all about these ones...
Miyuki: But ne, look look, touch them and see? The ones that are rounder and fatter seem delicious don't they?
[writing: Shopping points part 1, pike section; the flesh around the trunk is good, choose ones without cloudy
eyes.]
Miyuki: So the ones that are rounder and fatter, and with the eyes, look for the ones that aren't very cloudy.
Sho: Ah, eyes ne?
Miyuki: Yeah. So why don't you pick one.
Sho: This is bad! She's really relying on me. (writing) Ah, there are daikon like this?
Miyuki: Ah, as you would expect, the ones coming from outside. They're cheap! It says they're 58yen! (writing)
Sho: You've been exclaiming on the price for awhile now;P
[writing: As you would expect from a housewife!]
Miyuki: Amazing! With this, are you the kind of person who likes spicy daikon? Or are you the kind who likes
sweet daikon? (writing)
Sho: Although I like the spicy daikon, since they're children...
Miyuki: Then this one.
Sho: Eh? The ones with leaves are sweet?! (writing)
Miyuki: The ones with kind of a greenish color, are kind of sweeter in their savouryness.
[writing: The substance in daikon that causes the spicyness travels from the leaves to the root, so it's more
concentrated there.]
Miyuki: Like, if you want to eat the sweet daikon they have in oden (traditional food), then it's better to choose
the upper halves.
Sho: Then let's go with the upper (part with leaves). (writing)
Miyuki: That's all there is to it right, salt-grilled pike?
Sho: That's right.
Miyuki: A cheap meal~
Sho: A cheap meal~:P
[Announcer: Meanwhile, Aiba-kun also catches sight of some sliced fish. However, the item he has in his hand...]
Miyuki: What's with this? It says 'super spicy' on it. (writing)
Aiba: So this one's no good?
Miyuki: Because with this one, if you grilled it and added a rice ball and some tea seasoning it would be good.
Aiba: Huh? But today it's meuniere right?
Miyuki: For meuniere, you use the ones without seasoning.
[writing: Shopping point 2, salmon section; pick raw fish without seasoning for meuniere]
Aiba: You're kiddiing, which one~?
Miyuki: The ones without seasoning...
Sho: Although he's being unreliable after all... (writing)
Aiba: Which ones?
Sho: I guess it was good that she was here from the beginning...
Miyuki: It's this one, this one! The raw salmon! (writing)
Aiba: This is raw salmon?
Miyuki: Look. Look well, look well, the liquid underneath- do you know why they put this paper on?
Sho: I don't know.
Miyuki: Cause after awhile you know the liquid and blood will come out right? So the ones with the cleaner paper
are fresher.
Aiba: I see ne!
[writing: Shopping point 3, salmon section; choose the ones that don't have blood or fluids on them.]
Miyuki: This, like this right, look. There's fresh paper.
Aiba: So it's that one then right?
Miyuki: The registers are over there.
Aiba: Over there. Hey go over there.
Miyuki: this way, this way.
Kai: Because the cameraman keeps getting further away when we get closer, he's not going to the registers.
Aiba: What are you talking about?
Sho: Is it okay if I start?
Aiba: Go ahead.
Sho: Yes.
Miyuki: Shall I teach you how? (writign)
Sho: I'm okay. From now on I'm going to do it by myself! (writing) Although you gave me your perfect housewife's
wisdom on choosing ingredients, I think from now on I'd like to keep at it by myself.
Aiba: Yes, keep at it ne~.
Miyuki: I wonder if this is okay~? (writing)
Aiba: It's okay.
[writing: Cooking begins]
Sho: I'm okay. Cause after all, up until now we've been doing it without Kousaka-san.
[Announcer: Though he is not good at cooking he has plenty of fighting spirit to make up for it, Sakurai-kun.
writing: Sakurai's dinner, salt-grilled pike. Announcer: First he cuts the pike to a size that's easy for the
children to eat. (writing) Furthermore he cuts out the bitter entrails. (writing)]
Miyuki: You're cutting it like that?
[writing: Cutting in two with a single stroke!]
Sho: Why? There aren't any other ways right?
Miyuki: Scary, scary~.
Sho: Surely it's perfect. (writing)
Miyuki: Ne. I'm going to teach you just about this part ne?
Sho: Uwa, that's gross-
Miyuki: Cutting along the side is better.
Sho: Ah, is that so?
Miyuki: If you cut along this line here, the entrails will come out.
Sho: Ah, that's super wise. (writing)
[Announcer: That's right, when cutting the entrails out of a fish, inserting the blade along the side is a point.
(writing) If you do it like this, even the unskilled Sakurai...]
Miyuki: There you go, all nice.
[writing: Success!]
Miyuki: Congratulations~! The insides came out completely.
Sho: This is like a record of my growth. (writing)
Aiba: It's amazing ne, she's multi-skilled ne. It's like a cooking class. (writing)
Sho: This- what do you call this?
Miyuki: The fish-grilling grill. (writing)
Sho: Grill? There it is. It would be better to open up the salt seasoning when placing it right?
Miyuki: Yup. It's easy.
[Announcer: Sakurai-kun's seasoning is a combination of regular salt and a special blend of sesame oil. (writing)
Once thoroughly seasoning them he places them inside the grill. But Sakurai-kun, is it okay to grill them like that?
Aren't you forgetting something?]
Miyuki: Is it okay if I say something now for the sake of what happens after? (writing)
Sho: Yes.
Miyuki: I think it would be better to put water in the bottom of the grill pan...(writing)
Sho: You're kidding!
[writing: Panic. Announcer: That's right. When grilling fish on the grill, it's an inviolable rule to put water
in the pan. Because by doing so it will absorb all the fat and cause smoke. (writing)]
Sho: I don't know the timing, I mean I feel like isn't it when you see the smoke coming out that it's done?
Miyuki: It's not exact you know.
Sho: Ah, I guess I'll try putting it on low heat... (writing)
Miyuki: Ne, while you're watching it you're not going to do the next thing?! Like grating the daikon. (writing)
You're not going to do that kind of thing?
[writing: Sakurai's hang-up, until the fish is finished grilling he won't move!]
Miyuki: You're just going to watch? You're going to watch it, that's the worst~! You even watch fish grilling?;P
I can't believe this~!
[Announcer: And then, that Sakurai-kun Fuu-chan... (writing)]
Sho: What?
Fuu: Idiot! (writing)
Sho: That rascal.
[writing: Humiliation. Announcer: Now now, since you're an adult why don't you go back to watching over the cooking.
After this, a battle breaks out between the ultimate housewife Kousaka-san and Aiba-kun! (writing)]
Aiba: I know that! I know that~!
[Announcer: The Sakurai-Aiba unit, this week's dinner is grilled fish! writing: Salt-grilled pike, western-style
salmon meuniere; they want to make the children eat their disliked grilled fish! Announcer: So Sakurai-kun,
I wonder if the fish is grilled... writing: Verifying the condition of the grilled fish.]
SHo: Ah, it's looks super tasty! (writing)
Miyuki: It's grilled?
Sho: It looks super tasty.
[writing: Still not grilled]
Sho: Hey Kai, doesn't it look tasty?
Kai: It's weird.
Sho: There's nothing weird.
Kai: Yes, I'll get out the plates~! (writing)
Sho: Not yet Kai-kun, cause you can't do it at all yet. I take time to cook things.
[writing: Sakurai's hang-up; carefully grilling the pike over low heat! Announcer: By cooking the pike over low
heat the sweetness of the fish will come out more. This is Sakurai Sho's grilled fish. Meanwhile, Aiba-kun is
playing with the children to win their hearts. And then-]
Kai: Here, a thermometer! (writing)
Aiba: Ah that's right ne, you're measuring my fever ne. But why is that! (writing)
[writing: Comedy riposte]
Aiba: Why are you measuring my fever? It's like you're telling me to participate. Are you the director! (writing)
Kai: That's right! (writing)
Aiba: Excuse me, sooner- sooner or later couldn't we trade so I can do some cooking? (writing)
[Announcer: Which is to say that next Aiba-kun is heading for the kitchen. writing: Aiba's dinner, western-style
salmon meuniere. Announcer: To avoid having too many comments from Kousaka-san, today he's going to be lookin
though a cookbook while cooking. (writing)]
Aiba: So it's only the bones they don't like right? So it would be bad if I didn't take out the bones ne? (writing)
Miyuki: How are you going to take them out?
Aiba: There's a bone here.
Miyuki: Use the tongs to take it out. Ah, it came out!
Aiba: It came out!
[writing: Aiba-style salmon meuniere; removing the little bones as directed by the cooking book. Announcer: He
painstakingly removes the little bones the children dislike one at a time.]
Miyuki: The fish is-
Aiba: It's better without the bones right? (writing)
Miyuki: Which is better?
Fuu: Either's fine! (writing)
Aiba: So then I guess it's fine to just leave (the bones) in there. (writing)
[Announcer: The bone-removing is over... (writing)]
Aiba: Apply a light coating of flour to both sides of the fish.
[Announcer: Aiba-kun is making it just as the book says. writing: Aiba-style salmon meuniere; season with salt
to remove the water, sprinkle wheatflour on the surface of the salmon. (announcer)]
Aiba: This you know, is pretty easy ne! (writing) You're going to help?
Fuu: I won't help! (writing)
Miyuki: You won't help!
Aiba: Help out...
Miyuki: What are you going to do next...?
Aiba: I'm heating the frypan...
Miyuki: Yes.
Aiba: Careful careful.
Miyuki: That's dangerous.
Aiba: That's dangerous.
Miyuki: It's hot so don't get close to it.
Aiba: After heating the pan, put in some sesame oil.
Miyuki: Sesame oil...
[Announcer: Next Aiba-kun puts the sesame oil on stand-by. writing: Aiba-stul meuniere, grill it in sesame oil.
Announcer: And then-]
Miyuki: Because this (cookbook) is Japanese-style it has sesame oil, but it would be butter normally wouldn't it?
(writing) Ne, for western-style.
Aiba: I know that! (writing)
[writing: Getting angry at someone who would normally be angry at you?]
Aiba: I know that~. It's butter for western-style, I know that.
Miyuki: It's fine, since it says sesame oil why don't you try it with sesame oil.
Aiba: I don't care, cause I want to do it that way, I want to do western-style. That was close!
[writing: Aiba's dinner, WESTERN-STYLE salmon meuniere. Announcer: At that moment, in the children's room Sakurai-kun
is... (writing)]
Kai: Let's hug~, let's hug~.
Sho: What is that? Isn't that super Polichia (music group?) Do it one more time?
Both: Let's hug~, let's hug~, now what?
Kai: One and two and-
Sho: Let's hug~.
Staff: EVen though Kai-kun is five he knows about Arashi. (writing)
Sho: Kai-kun, you know Arashi? (writing)
Kai: I know them. (writing)
Sho: Do you like Arashi? (writing)
Kai: I like them. (writing)
Sho: Ah, you're a good guy huh~. You have cute points as well ne.
[Announcer: However! (writing)]
Sho: Who are they (members of Arashi)? (writing)
Kai: [Tsubasa]'s not in it right? (writing)
Sho: He's not. Tsubasa's not one of them.
[writing: He didn't know Arashi... Announcer: This is a shock! Cause Kai-kun, the older brother right in front
of you is in Arashi ne. After this, trouble appears for Sakurai-kun's pike! (writing)]
Sho: It's over-cooked!
[Announcer: The Sakurai-Aiba unit, this week's dinner is grilled fish! writing: Salt-grilled pike, western-style
salmon meuniere; they want to make the children eat their disliked grilled fish! Announcer: Aiba-kun finally puts
the salmon in the frypan! writing: Aiba-style salmon meuniere; plenty of butter! Grill it on low heat.]
Miyuki: Don't let the butter burn.
Aiba: Ne. Uwa, this'll definitely be tasty! Ah! I'm getting hungry! (writing)
Miyuki: Please grill it until the skin is cripsy ne. (writing)
Aiba: Yes. Ah, look! It's crispy.
Miyuki: Very much.
Aiba: This is unexpectedly easy, more than I thought.
[Announcer: Although it looks quite good with the butter, all that's left to complete it is to make the sauce.
At which point, from Kousaka-san...]
Miyuki: What sauce are you going to make? (writing)
Aiba: Tartar sauce. (writing)
Miyuki: Keep at it. (writing)
Aiba: No, I'm going to stop doing it! The tartar sauce. (writing)
Miyuki: That's quick, that's quick!
Aiba: Um...something more like a cream sauce... (writing)
Miyuki: Like Bechamel? (writing)
Aiba: Like Bechamel.
[writing: Aiba'a hang-up, when it comes to western-style, a white sauce!]
Aiba: Then I'm going to go with something like Bechamel.
Miyuki: Bechamel-type ne?
Aiba: If it's no good then I'll go buy it! (writing)
[Announcer: While talking lightly with Kousaka-san the salmon comes out grilled like this. writing: Other than
that, once the sauce is made it's finished! Announcer: Meanwhile, Sakurai-kun's pike is... (writing)]
Miyuki: He looks happy~.
Sho: It looks tasty~.
Miyuki: Is the inside cooked?
Sho: The inside isn't cooked at all! (writing)
Miyuki: Yuck! Cook it properly.
[writing: Sakurai's hang-up; carefully grilling the pike over low heat! Announcer: It's a shame but, the pike is
still only partially cooked. At this point Skaurai-kun begins to grate the daikon while he waits.]
Miyuki: You know ne, if you do it really forcibly it will get spicier.
Sho: Ehh?
[writing: One point advice; grating it forcibly -> the spiciness increases; grating it gently -> the spice is
descreased.]
Miyuki: Although I don't know why, that's what I was told way back when, that if you grate it like this it will
become spicy, and if you do it gently like this it will become sweeter.
Sho: All right! The daikon greating is complete! (writing)
Kai: Complete!
Sho: And the pike...
[Announcer: So, will the pike be grilled well? (writing)
Sho: Uwa! Uwa! It look super tasty~.
[writing: The Sakurai-style low heat strategy is a big success]
Miyuki: Is it cooked inside?
Sho: What should I do?
Miyuki: Is it cooked inside?
Sho: This is supper tasty-looking.
[Announcer: The low heat strategy is a big success!]
Miyuki: Is the back properly grilled too? (writing)
Sho: I think it's grilled... (writing)
[Announcer: Or so we thought... (writing)]
Sho: Ah, but I cooked it on high heat!
[writing: High heat?!]
Sho: Even though I planned on putting it at this setting...
[Announcer: After this, a super must-see! Aiba's special sauce is completed. writing: After this, Aiba's special
sauce makes an appearance!]
Sho: Amazing, what is that? It's started looking like crab miso!
[Announcer: The Sakurai-Aiba cooking contest is finally in the end stages! writing: Salt-grilled pike, western-style
salmon meuniere; they want to make the children eat their disliked grilled fish! Announcer: Here Aiba-kun begins
making the white sauce he has decided on for flavoring. (writing)]
Miyuki: Would it be better if I left you alone now? (writing)
[writing: Fujimoto Cameraman "Yup!"]
Miyuki: Then I'll try leaving you alone and see-
Aiba: Hey!
Miyuki: The cameraman said that would be good.
Aiba: What's with that?
Miyuki: That's fine, that's fine. Just try and do it like that.
[Announcer: Butter, milk and weak flour. Here Aiba-kun is makig a white sauce relying only on his own knowledge.
(writing)]
Miyuki: Look at that~. It's become an incredible turn of events.
Aiba: (The wheat flour)'s turning into lumps... (writing)
Miyuki: I know.
Aiba: Ne. I know. At the beginning it turns into lumps! (writing)
Miyuki: I don't think the lumps are going to go away ne. (writing)
Aiba: You're kidding.
Miyuki: It's dry ne?
Aiba: This isn't delicious at all. (writing)
[Announcer: As you would expect, Aiba-kun failed. writing: The white sauce is a failure! And, just then Sakurai-kun...]
Sho: Aiba-kun! We got an email. From papa and mama.
Miyuki: Yes.
Aiba: What did they say?
Sho: 'Are Fuu and Kai being good kids? Are they listening to what Kousaka-san and Sho-kun and Masaki-kun are
telling them? We're coming home soon!' (writing)
Aiba: I'm sorry, right away.
Sho: They're coming back from the check-up-
Aiba: Um ne, the way of making a cream sauce...this is a failure! (writing) Is what I'm told.
Miyuki: It's a waste huh, he's abandonning it.
Sho: Eh? You amde that then?
[writing: He failed<3]
Sho: Hey, they're coming home!
Aiba: Men's cooking takes a lot of money. (writing)
Sho: I think you just said something kind of good.
[Announcer: Well, you don't have any more time to fail. This time he's nervously making the white sauce under
Kousaka-san's tutelage. writing: One-point advice; using a whisk to mix-in most of the butter well will make
it hard to form lumps. Announcer: But even here he fails due to what has come before!]
Sho: Uwa, Amazing, what is that? It's started looking like crab miso! (writing)
[writing: He burnt it<3]
Miyuki: The base is done.
Aiba: Just try a little.
Kai: It's kind of giving off a raw smell. (writing)
[writing: A raw smell?!]
Aiba: All right! It's complete~!
[writing: White *scratched out* Brown sauce completed!]
Sho: Amazing! He's seriously doing it!
[writing: The menu to conquer grilled fish is completed! Announcer: The cuisine that the two of them worked their
hardest to make is this! Sakurai-kun's creation. Salt and sesame oil grilled pike. (writing) The color of the
grilled skin is just right! The problem is whether or not the children will be happy. Meanwhile, Aiba-kun is
battling with salmon meuniere. (writing) Her's prepared two varieties, a simple one without sauce, and one
with the white, or rather brown sauce atop it. writing: Partaking!]
Miyuki: Yes, this is the pike~!
Aiba: It's pike.
Fuu: It's the body!
Aiba: The body of a pike-
SHo: This, eat this with soy sauce on it.
Miyuki: He says there's salt on this one.
Sho: This is...though you;re laughing at me, this is grated daikon to put on it ne.
Miyuki: How is it?
Sho: Ah, that's no good, you have to put soy sauce on it.
Miyuki: How is it? ven just like that is it delicious?
Kai: Delicious! (writing)
Miyuki: Delicious!
Sho: Really?!
Aiba: Delicious? You're able to eat the bones?
Miyuki: The bones ne...he's incredibly eating it the way it is.
Aiba: It can't be helped if there's bones in it. Yes, eat it.
Miyuki: How is it? How is it? Delicious?
Sho/Aiba: Delicious?
Miyuki: That's good...
Sho: Well, that's good.
Miyuki: Then eat the salmon too, the salmon too.
Aiba: Try eating this, try eating it. It really is delicious ne.
Miyuki: You're bold ne. How is it?
Aiba: How is it?
Miyuki: The meuniere?
Aiba: Tasty?
Kai: Delicious! (writing)
Aiba: It's delicious ne~! It's delicious right?
Sho: And the brown sauce? (writing)
Miyuki: Why don't you try eating the one with the brown sauce? (writing)
Aiba: It's not brown sauce, it's a white sauce! (writing)
Miyuki: Yes, eat it! How is it?
Aiba: How is it?
Miyuki: How is it?
Aiba: Delicious?!
Sho: The brown sauce ne.
Aiba: It's super tasty!
Kai: It's not at all-
Miyuki: It became this kind of cuisine.
Kai: It's not bitter at all.
Sho: Ah it's tasty! (writing)
Aiba: It's tasty! I burnt it on purpose! (writing)
Miyuki: Ne!
Aiba: Ne.
Miyuki: Ne!
Aiba: So, go ahead and do it at home as well! (writing)
Sho: No they won't do it!
[Announcer: Well then, it's finally judgement time! Kai-kun, Fuu-chan, we'll leave it to you ne! writing:
Judgement, whose was most delicious?]
Miyuki: Whichever one was the most delicious, please give them a hug. (writing) Ok, go! All right!
Aiba: I worked pretty hard.
Miyuki: Which one, which one? Fuu-chan Fuu-chan? Which one Fuu-chan?
Sho: Huh? So it's a draw?
Aiba: A draw?
Sho: Which means that, this is...
Kai: Janken! (writing)
Sho: It's not janken!
[writing: Supplemental rule, in the even of a tie Kousaka-san will judge!]
Miyuki: Janken? So that means I'll be deciding?
Aiba: That's right ne.
Sho: So that means it becomes uncertain?
Miyuki: Uncertain huh~.
Sho: Um, Kousaka-san, by the way, it's okay if you don't do it by hugging! (writing)
Miyuki: What does that mean! (writing)
Aiba: Well, it's more high-class ne?
Sho: High-class...
Miyuki: So it's high-class is it?
[Announcer: In the end, Kousaka-san's choice is? writing: In the end, which one will Kousaka-san pick?]
Aiba: The kids are good-
Miyuki: This one~!
Sho: Seriously~?!
[writing: The western-style salmon meuniere, Aiba's victory!]
Sho: Um, Kousaka-san, what was the cause of my defeat?
Miyuki: Ne, it terms of fish fundamentally, after all you have to be as nimble as possible.
[writing: One-point advice, since fish bruises easily, do it nimbly!]
Aiba: that's something you have to do?
Miyuki: After all, doing it quickly will be the more fresh way to make it ne.
Aiba: I see ne.
Miyuki: You know ne, when you were taking out the insides of the fish ne-
Sho: Ah, certainly...
Miyuki: Ne!
[Announcer: Well then Sakurai-kun, we'll leave the cleaning up to you. writing: Sakurai-kun has been decided on
for the kitchen clean-up!]
Sho: Look at this! Aiba-kun's brown sauce. It's kind of going solid! It's starting to look like foie gras! (writing)
Ahhh, this is frustrating~.
Tetsuya: We're home~.
Aiba: Yes, hi~!
Aiba/Sho: Welcome home~!
Mio: Thank you very much!
Aiba: Ah the dog!
Sho: The dog has returned, welcome home.
Miyuki: You did the check-up~?
Mio: Yes!
Aiba: Is that so?
Mio: He's healthy ne.
Sho: Eh, this is the cuisine we made today. We kind of wrote some comments.
Mio: yes, thank you very much!
Tetsuya: Thank you~.
Sho: Both of them ate it deliciously.
[writing: Arashi's Assault, Children's Dinner, Yokota household. (Sho) Although it was cooking done in great
distress, the completed salt-grill was superb. The sesam grill, my area of expertise, was unexpectedly ordinary.
(writing) (Aiba) An unbelievable victory! Although everything didn't go very well, the result was all right!
From now on it's a brown sauce! (writing)]
Mio: Since Kousaka-san was here today I didn't worry at all. (writing)
Miyuki: Thank you-
Aiba: Hey, isn't that rude?! (writing)
Sho: Though I worried a lot! (writing)
[Announcer: In any case, thanks for your hard work you two! writing: Next they're assaulting your house!]
Aiba/Sho: We went and grilled fish~!
Sho: Contrary to the way it was in the special, Kousaka Miyuki-san came with us today in a coaching role.
Jun: By doing something like that, your cooking skills would definitely improve ne?
Aiba: The number of times we have to cut while shooting will decrese right! (writing)
Sho: 'Aiba Masaki~'
Aiba: But ne, it seems like they're aiming for it (the show) right now. (writing)
Sho: They're aiming for it.
Aiba: Why do you think that is?
Jun: Why, what do you think?
Aiba: Housewife talents ne, by properly taking care of the kids ne, properly cooking dinner, their favourability
will go up incredibly right? Even for Sugita Kaoru-san, her approval with go up.
[writing: Sugita Kaoru]
Nino: Seriously?
Aiba: Seriously.
Nino: But Sugita Kaoru isn't a housewife talent.
[writing: Currently single]
Aiba: I'm wrong ne.
Jun: A little wrong ne. So going on like this they'll hijack the show? (writing)
Aiba: I think they'll hijack it.
Sho: Therefore ne, there's a possibility that MMA will become a show that's not Arashi's... (writing)
Ohno: But Johnny's Jimusho won't allow that right!! (writing)

Haha, leave it to Ohno to point out something like thatXDD Let's hope he's right...;P And enough with the guests already, I prefer just Arashi^^; More screen time for our boys and less housewives thank youXD And this is beside the point but...you're a couple with two kids and two dogs...you don't get much time to yourselves...so you ask Arashi to come look after the kids for you for one night...so you can take your dog for a physical??O_o When the spark is gone it's just gone I guess...^^;

And for dessert, Jun's article from February Wink-Up, very cute<3

Speaking of January, sooner of later our new single will be coming out right?, is the way it is (laughs). Although
the release date hasn't been officially decided yet...but this WU goes on sale the 6th of January right?, which
means that [HanaDan]'s first episode was broadcast on the 5th, and the peoiple who watched that broadcast will
know what kind of song it is ne. That's right, the first episode is a new spring 2 hour 15 minute special ne. It
would be great if you watched it ne. It's a super super good song. The piano line is extremely pretty, it's
very impressive ne. The one who wrote it is Youth Case-san, the person who made the solo song [Tell me what you
wanna be?] that I sung live ne. It changes key before the voices come on, there's parts where little sounds change
key as well...the blended-in piano and base line is extremely pretty. I like it. I think after listening to the
main theme [Love So Sweet] you will be able to enjoy watching the drama as well.
Let's see...other than that, a while ago ne, would be the live house in Yokohama I guess. Though it's a restaurant,
kind of like the feel of the famous Jazz-type live house Blue Note, in one corner of the store there's a stage and
you can watch live performances while eating. An acquaintance of mine did a performance there and I went to see
it, it was extremely~ interesting. A lot of that acquaintance's friends and family came, and I was also taking
charge of those children at the same time (laughs), though I came to watch. It was an acoustic live, at the beginning
it was a 3 person formation with piano, percussion and maracas. With twin vocals, the two with the percussion and
maracas were singing. Midway through a guitar came in, and it became 4 people...that's the kind of performance
it was, the atmosphere was extremely good. Kind of a warm-feeling atmosphere ne. There were also a lot of positive
lyrics in the vocals too.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, as you would think, when people who are singing express their feelings extremely well,
depending on the expression you're able to feel the atmosphere around you become that way too. Although it's not
something flashy, there was a feeling that the acoustic sound was spreading out bit by bit. Midway through the
guitar came in, and depending on when the guitar came in the piano sound would become extremely interesting,
and depending on that in turn the guitar would almost seem to be alive. I was thinking, 'even with just these few
sounds it's spreading out this much!', it was extremely interesting. You know ne, it was a good time ne. Because I
rarely go to Yokohama. It wasn't like a usual live house, and the atmosphere was extremely good. That would be
my recent state of events ne. Well...I think in January I'll be frantically doing the shooting for the drama (laughs).
So, now for the New Year's Card. "Felicitations on the dawning of a new year. I'm called Matsumoto Jun. For you
the readers, what kind of year will it be? For myself, Matsumoto Jun, it has been a good start with the good omen
of plentiful work. Because of which I have the intention to work hard. Allow me to greet you while continuing to
pray for your good health everyone. I take my leave." ...what did I just do? It's the greeting for the new year!
Is there some kind of problem with that (laughs)? New Year's Cards, ne. Because I don't write them. Even if someone
gives me one I don't write them ne (laughs). Therefore, I guess I'll do one "To my friends" as well. "To my friends.
On the page of this magazine, Happy New Year. I, Matsumoto, am not in the habit of sending New Year's Cards, so
although I think I may partake in some, unfortunately I have decided I'm [not sending any]. Because even though
I may partake in them I won't return them...I'm truly sorry (laughs). Despite that I am doing well, please forgive my lack
of greetings (laughs). In the way that "no news is good news". I am doing well. Using this space, I request your favor
this year as well!

I really enjoyed his description of the music, it became very vivid for me, the warmth and positivity:3 Music is a beautiful thing.... And his hilarious new year's greetings;P I can understand why he wouldn't just write out the cards, he'd be doing it all week probably, there's so many people to worry about;) At least he gets to use the magazine to take care of it, ah the perks of being an idol neXDD

Ne, Minna, I'm very sorry, [info]yuckie_chan gave me the subs to the episode of MMA before this one and I forgot to post them!>_< Gomen nasai~XS Here they are, please thank her for her hard work:) MMA

Yoroshiku!:D

Nyanchan... Many many many thanks for your sharing translation. Times fly and I cudn't believe that is almost February!!!! Anyway, I really loved the way he's described about music. Music is really something..... To me music can turn me high and sometimes it can turn me down with or without lyrics. No matter what language it is you can tell by the sound, the rhythm when you're listening. I listen to the music while I'm driving. Even at work I can pick my own music to listen as well. I guess I'm lucky that way. This is a really great article. Totally loved it!!! By the way is there by any chance you play any music instrument? Stay warm.....

Your awesomeness never ceases! A perfect day for this, too, since it started out with me getting only 4.5 hours sleep and having to try and think my way through a presentation and 3 back-to-back meetings today. I am so tired and all I want is to drink my wine and watch/read about Arashi. So wheeee!! This fit the bill perfectly!

As ever thank you you for the translations!
Much thanks to yuckie-chan for making the subs too.

I love those Cadbury mini-eggs. They are mini and have a faint powdery feeling and you can roll them around on the table before you eat them!!!

Poor Miyuki-san, she gets no love. Though it must have been pressurising and annoying to have someone watching your every move while you're doing something that you are kind of average at, like cooking. She was trying hard to be tactful with Sho, but she went all out on Aiba. Though she made up for it by choosing him in the end. And that little girl was funny, running around and hugging anything and everyone.

I must say Sho endlessly poring over his grilled fish gave me nightmare flashbacks to his bean-growing segments in G no Arashi. Eeek.

Bah, we don't need her;) She can go hang out with Kiriko if she wants loveXDD Sho handled it well, and she was a little easier on him...but Aiba's family cooks, so I think he took a little umbrage at her 'helpfulness'XDD But yeah, he still wins, so I guesit's all good;) I like how the girl called Sho baka and ran away, I laughed so hardXDD
