The hard way
Ohayou minna, ogenki desu ka?;) It's been a long rainy weekend, and I love rain so I'm happy, but it looks like the hot weather's setting in for good now^^; I can't wait for the thunderstorms, they're always so spectacular!:3 And speaking of storms (wink) there's Arashi's summer concerts to look forward to!XD I think I already mentioned but, I'm going to Japan, and with teh full intention of seeing at least one concert (I think we all know which one I've got my heart set onXD). If anyone would be able to help please do message me, I think I'll need all the luck and kindness I can get!XD Yoroshiku ne~^^
The main reason I say that is, something I noticed by now, I always have to do things the hard way...for example, even though I've been trying to do summaries of episodes I invariably forget and end up doing whole segments that probably should have been summariesXD And I wonder why I have no time...;P Today I have a big example of that stubbornness: I did the episode of Shukudai-kun that was a preview for the Odoroki SP XDD
Sho: Arashi's homework begins~!
Ogura: What's happening today? Are you all doing cosplay? (writing)
[writing: White robe play?]
Sho: You're wrong!
Nino: Shall we tell him?
Aiba: It's not cosplay.
Sho: It's because on March 23rd we're having the [Odoroki no Arashi! Experiments of the Century that even scholars
have no chance of predicting SP 2!] (writing).
[Announcer: Arashi risks their lives to investigate experiments that scholars have wanted to try at least once!
(writing) A scholar's dream: Will they be able to reach Tokyo Bay by riding on an ice floe? (writing)]
Sho: Wait for us! Rainbow bridge! (writing)
[Announcer: A high-risk investigation. In the end will they be able to come back alive? (writing) And a scholar
thought-up experiment: will a butterfly be able to fly in zero gravity? (writing) Furthermore, scholar-thought-up:
what's the length limit of a vaccuum hose when sucking up tissues. (writing)]
Jun: It's here~! (writing) The scholars themselves are excited over the unforseen results! (writing) Arashi
stakes their lives on the scholar's unreasonable demands! (writing) [Odoroki no Arashi! Experiments of the Century that even scholars
have no chance of predicting SP 2!] (writing) Friday at 7pm.]
Ogura: That ne, I thought we'd do it. Since the first time around was amazing.
Jun: It was amazing ne~.
Aiba: Amazing.
Ogura: It was interesting.
Jun: It was interesting ne~.
Sho: Just like the title says, it's a show where we're trying out risking our lives for experiments that scholar-
teachers can't predict the results to. (writing) I think we'd like to take a look at last time's line-up, here
we go. This is it ne.
Jun: We did it ne.
[writing: Last time's experiments: Can people fly in the sky on a kite? Can you cross the sea on a paper boat?
Can you make a giant jelly? Can you make cherry blossoms bloom in fall? Can you make soap bubbles at the south
pole?]
Sho: Although we did a lot of things, as you would think the best was 'Can a person fly in the sky on a kite?'
which Aiba-kun did.
Aiba: yes, I did it. I did my best ne, on that ne, really.
Ogura: This I thought was really dangerous. (writing)
Aiba: I thought it was dangerous too! (writing) Really. I mean, when it was going up it was going up, and that
was the same way it came down, but the staff told me [We haven't done a simulation]. That's a problem
ne!! (writing) When I asked them why they said [Because the kite'll break] and I was like [Don't say stupid
things!], really! (writing)
Sho: It was like [won't I break too?]
Aiba: It was like [the person will break too].
Sho: 'Can you make cherry blossoms bloom in fall?'
Ogura: This ne, the result left an impression on me! (writing)
Sho: Because it's got romance in it ne. (writing)
Nino: That was a dream ne (writing). That ne. It was a lot of trouble, but I seriously think it was a blast.
Ohno: It was great. It was just one...right? That properly bloomed. (writing)
Ogura: Because you had pictured the cherry blossom tree just bursting in full bloom ne.
Nino: Definitely, we got depressed and didn't look. It was really great that it was there.
Ogura: The professors are all fairly irresponsible huh! (writing)
Ohno: That's right.
Ogura: I mean the paper boat, wasn't that overdoing it? (writing)
Jun: It was ne.
Aibna: It was ne.
Sho: However, they informed us that we reached the boundary of success. (writing)
Ogura: They told you that?
Nino: That can't be right.
Ogura: Didn't everyone fall out?
Nino: We couldn't have been successful. Yamamoto Tarou drowned! (writing)
[writing: This is how it appears after the fact]
Aiba: he completely went out ne.
Nino: He completely went out.
Aiba: That's right ne.
Nino: We went to that limit huh?
Jun: Ne~.
Aiba: We did ne. We did a lot of things.
Sho: That's the feel of it ne, although we risked our lives for various things, for the purpose of illustrating the
experiments of the scholar-teachers, the experiment on the previous special that had the most hardship was
the [paper boat] we used to cross the sea. (writing)
Nino: It's not the kite?! Isn't it the kite?! (writing)
Sho: That's what I thought at first too-
Nino: Surely it's the kite! (wriitng)
Aiba: I don't get this at all!
Jun: There there.
[Announcer: Well, let's take a good look at the paper boat from last time that caused such big reverberations.
writing: Can you cross the sea in a giant paper boat? Announcer: In a giant paper boat with 10 people they are
aiming to reach a goal about 10km away. (writing)]
Male: There's a hole opening up! What do we do about this?! (writing)
Sho: What do we do about this?
[Announcer: Will they be able to safely cross the sea? (writing) But before that, we also had a boat in the special
this time.]
Sho: But there's ice floes! Uwa~, amazing, that's the first time I've seen one! (writing)
[Announcer: Will they be able to reach Tokyo bay riding on an ice floe? (writing) Pulling the ice floe behind
a boat they head for Tokyo bay. (writing)]
Sho: Alright, let's go! (writing)
[Announcer: Here we go! Departing for Tokyo bay! (writing)]
Sho: Uwa~! This is scary! (writing)
[Announcer: The ice floe is... (writing)]
Sho: Wait for us, Rainbow bridge! (writing)
[writing: Will they be able to reach Tokyo bay? Announcer: Arashi risks their lives to investigate experiments
that scholars have wanted to try at least once! (writing) Scholar thought-up experiment: will a butterfly be
able to fly in zero gravity? (writing) The scholars themselves are excited over the unforseen results! (writing)
[Odoroki no Arashi! Experiments of the Century that even scholars have no chance of predicting SP 2!] (writing)
Friday at 7pm. Well then, finally after the CM this famous scene! (writing) The dream experiment that paper expert
Emae-sensei has thought up was 'Can you cross the sea in a giant paper boat?' (writing) In a giant paper boat with
10 people they are aiming to reach Hatsushima about 10km away. (writing) To learn about maufacturing the giant
paper boat Ninomiya went to Tokyo University (writing)]
5:10
{There he explains it all to boat expert Kawamura-sensei and asks him to design the giant paper boat. Plus,
Nino has a certain preference...he wants a sail, whihc they'll also make out of paper. Then at a later date
the design reaches Nino and Sho, and it's a fabulous representation of his hard work. Point 1 is making the bottom
of the boat flat, as opposed to most other boats, because they know from past experience that didn't work out.
Point 2 is putting air pockets in the bottom of the boat for buoyancy. Point 3 is putting styrofoam in the bow
to improve the sterring and buoyancy, and point 4 is the requested sail. Thus, the two of them begin building the
paper boat per the design, the first step is to cut the bottom, which they must do perfectly or the influx of
water could lead to trouble in the open water. The announcer says the challenge has begun and they are tightly
concentrating on the work. Everyone's dreams are riding on this boat, and the staff assist in finishing it
up until the middle of the night. Finally the paper boat is completed. Sho and Nino agree;P To make up the 10
members of the boat they call on a local boat club. Sho and Nino welcome them and Nino asks their ages, and
then asks why Yamamoto is among them. He says he heard they were making a paper boat, and the announcer says
he's come to help out. But there's one more, 'Brother Tom', who says he wasn't going to come, and they ask why
he did and he says because they told him it was a job. Now it's finally time to reveal the giant paper boat,
which is made from carboard and packing tape, and will be hand-rowed. Brother Tom freaks out when he sees the tape
peeling and Nino says of course it'll have various openings since it's a boat, to which he replies by telling
Nino not to say stupid things;P Then one by one the try getting in and find it surprisingly sturdy. They try
out rowing on dry land and Nino says it could work, so they all carry it out to the water together, since it
weighs 300kilos. Sho says it's finally time to go out in the boat, the announcer says just in case they're all being
provided with life vests, buckets for bailing out water, and an SOS flare. The preparations are complete, it's finally
time to set sail....but will the paper boat float? Nino asks if it's actually floating, and Sho shouts happily
that it is;) Yamamoto says it would be pretty sad if it sank right there;P The first hurdle is cleared, next
they have to think about getting everyone inside, starting with Nino. Next, Yamamoto, then the others, are soon
they are setting off.}
10:40
Nino: If it it comes to the moment we're going down, please definitely do not betray me. (writing)
Yamamoto: What does that mean? (writing)
Nino: Please let me live the rest of my life the way I am now. Ne. Definitely. Because we're all aiming for
Hatsushima. If we go down everyone's lost.
Sho: Pool our strength until the very end ne. (writing)
Nino: So once it sinks we'll push it while swimming ne. (writing)
Yamamoto: We'll still push it?;P (writing)
11:04
{Their aims are in harmony, and after 5 minutes they've gone 100m...until...}
11:10
Brother Tom: 10km at this speed? (writing)
Sho: We might not have it (the physical strength) for this. (writing)
[Announcer: No matter how you look at it, it seems a lot of physical strength is necessary for this.]
Nino: Ah! Isn't this bad? (writing)
Yamamoto: What is it?
Ohno: Isn't that a little early?
[Announcer: The water has begun seeping into the cardboard. They put a waterproof finish on it, but little by
little anxiety is creeping in.]
Nino: This is bad~!
Sho: It's okay, we have buckets.
Yamamoto: You'll be a water-fighter?;P
Nino: It's okay Sho-chan?
[Announcer: From there the distance increases to 500m. (in 45min.) But in this boat there is a certain problem...]
Nino: The feeling of rowing...well, doesn't the wind feel good? (writing)
Sho: It feels good ne, coming from over there. (writing)
Nino: It feels like it's just rushing over.
Brother Tom: Isn't this thing no good if the wind's coming from over there? (writing)
Yamamoto: This thing's really picking up the wind. (writing) It's going the other way-
Brother Tom: Didn't I tell you? 'Do we need this?' (writing)
[writing: Downwind]
Sho: We thought we might need it.
Nino: oh, it's really swaying!
Sho: Let's tear this down, let's tear this down. (writing)
Nino: Alright, let's tear it down.
[Announcer: Unbelievably, since the wind is coming from the opposite direction this has become and incredible
source of resistance. That's why they aren't moving forward. Which leads them to rip off the mast that was
designed in. Too bad they didn't notice sooner... writing: The rebirth of [the paper ship]. Announcer: Once
the mast is gone their speed suddnely goes up (writing) In the blink of an eye they're moving along smoothly.]
Nino: What's that boat? (wriitng)
[Announcer: And then a terrible fellow craft threatens the paper boat.]
Nino: That's the worst. This is bad.
[writing: A fishing boat?]
Yamamoto: It's come in really close. (writing) Eh, what? Why why?
Nino: Why?! Why is it coming over here?! (writing) The broadside waves are dangerous! (writing)
[writing: Incredible broadside waves]
Nino: Why?? They definitely came to see us, as someone normally would.
[Announcer: Riding out the broadside waves the paper boat reaches 1.5km. At the current point there aren't very many
problems, but there the boat begins to take on water. Meaning that over the long run the boat will sink. They want
to somehow up the pace:S Here there is an unexpected personnel loss. writing: Sea-sick.]
Sho: Getting sea-sick in a paper boat! (writing) There's the experiment result.
Nino: Sorry.
[Announcer: Previously so talkative, now Ninomiya is incapable of anything further.]
Nino: It'll definitely get better Sho-chan.
[Announcer: As well, the primary motive power behind the paper boat, the boat team, have reached their physical
limit. After reaching 2.3km the boat isn't moving at all. To give them a breather the sho's staff switch with them.
(writing) Since Ninomiya wants to arrive at Hatsushima in the paper boat, even though he's no longer powering
the ship he stays aboard. writing: Unenergetic crewmates. The members muster their strength and row desperately,
aiming for the far far away Hatsushima, still another 7.5km to go. (writing) However a big problem arises.]
Sho: Ah! A hole is opening up! (writing)
Brother Tom: It's getting bigger isn't it!
Sho: What do we do about this??
[writing: A hole in the boat!]
Sho: What do we do about this? Oh, this is bad! It's (water) coming in, it's coming in! (writing)
Yamamoto: Isn't that just failing to stop the water coming in?
Brother Tom: Go on the opposite side. (Because it'll sink it down) (writing)
Sho: Wow, that the one with the least desire to do it, Tom-san, would become this dependable... (writing)
Tom: Could you go closer to the other side? This doesn't mean it's helping huh. (writing)
[Announcer: Within seconds it becomes a big panic on board. After the quick fix they finally reach the 3km mark,
however...]
Sho: An incredible amount of water is coming in!
Yamamoto: Ah, amazing! Tom-san!
[writing: The bottom of the ship is flooded]
Tom: This is terrible.
Yamamoto: This isn't the time to be napping. Drainage operations. (writing)
Nino: I can't do a thing, even though I have the feeling right now that we're going to sink... (writing)
Yamamoto: Amazing. It's coming in more and more.
[Announcer: With the readied buckets everyone desperately tries to repel the sea.]
Yamamoto: It's really coming in.
[Announcer: The start rowing again but...when you compare to when they departed it's as you see here. The boat
has begun to slowly sink.]
Tom: I told you this situation was messed up. (writing)
[Announcer: Finally, in an effort to maintain a balance Tom-san puts his weight onto the opposite end of the ship
but... writing: Could the ship be...? Announcer: Well then, this time on Odoroki no Arashi 2...]
Jun: If you put helium gas in a balloon and a person goes inside, can it float up? We want to try that today.
Aya: Why are we doing this?;P
Sho: Hasn't my voice changed? (writing)
George: It's changed, it's changed, it's changed! Like Degawa-san! (writing) Degawa-kun!
Sho: This is bad! This is bad! This is bad! (writing)
[Announcer: In the end, will it fly? (writing)]
Jun: Countdown to letting go, 3, 2, 1, let go! (writing)
[writing: Exactly what will happen?! Announcer: Are you okay Sakurai?]
Aiba: Can a butterfly fly in zero gravity? (writing) Good huh?
Ohno: Zero gravity?
Aiba: Yeah.
[Announcer: Making a sudden ascent and then sudden drop in an airplane creates and area of zero gravity inside.
(writing) So, finally the zero gravity. writing: In the middle of a sharp drop. Physically experiencing zero
gravity! Announcer: In the end will the butterfly properly fly? (writing)]
Aiba: Yes, here we go~.
[Announcer: They also did various other zero gravity experiments. writing: Raw egg/water balloon/sand timer/
beer. Arashi risks their lives to investigate experiments that scholars have wanted to try at least once!
(writing) A scholar's dream: Will they be able to reach Tokyo Bay by riding on an ice floe? (writing) A scholar
thought-up experiment: will a butterfly be able to fly in zero gravity? (writing) The scholars themselves are
excited over the unforseen results! (writing) Arashi stakes their lives on the scholar's unreasonable demands!
(writing) [Odoroki no Arashi! Experiments of the Century that even scholars have no chance of predicting SP 2!]
(writing) Friday at 7pm. After this the paper boat is in a big pinch! (writing) Exactly what will happen? In
the end will the paper boat reach it's goal? (writing)]
Sho: It's getting worse now, the sea...
[writing: Flooding from the sides of the boat]
Sho: This is bad!
Yamamoto: This is bad, it's just a matter of time. (writing)
Sho: Ah, isn't that dangerous? (writing)
[Announcer: very soon he's half in the water, this is bad.]
Sho: Everyone over here! (writing) Everyoen over here! Everyone over here! (writing)
[Announcer: Ninomiya is now even more eager to get off. writing: Frantic drainage operations.]
Sho: Get the water out with the buckets. (writing)
Yamamoto: Everyone on the crew! (writing)
Sho: Wait a minute. Inflate your lifejackets! (writing)
[Announcer: The frantic drainage isn't stopping the influx.]
Yamamoto: It can still work. (writing)
Sho: It can still work. It can still work. It can still work. Forward. Go forward! (writing)
[Announcer: The highest point reached is 3km. Sank at the mouth of ShinNagaHama.]
Ogura: This [Odoroki no Arashi], the main point is that you're doing experiments thought up by scholars right!
(writing)
Sho: That's right ne.
Aiba: That's right ne.
Sho: We, Arashi, are risking our lives for experiments that the researchers wanted to try at least once. This time,
Aiba-kun, was your body okay? (writing)
Aiba: Well this time, this time as well ne, again ne, I risked my life ne! (writing) Leader, the two of us went
ne.
Ohno: This time I risked my lfie as well ne! (writing)
Sho: So in the end are you okay right now? Is there anything about your body that's not right?
Aiba: Nothing ne, just something like a feeling of being high right! (writing)
Nino: That's not right. That's definitely not right.
Aiba: In terms of sensations it's amazing.
Ohno: Amazing.
Aiba: Yeah, amazing. Kind of, maybe, just maybe, it's something that other people can't really do. It's the same
with the kite, but this time as well I did something that other people can't do.
Jun: You did it.
AIba: I did it.
Sho: Ah, I see.
[Announcer: Can you reach Tokyo bay riding on an ice floe? Can a butterfly fly in zero gravity? (writing) As
well as other scholar thought-up experiments that they're exerting themselves over this time. (writing)]
Nino: Are we doing battle? With the instructors. (writing)
Aiba: That's right.
Nino: That's right ne.
AIba: Cause we're doing our best so that it doesn't turn out like the instructors' results.
Nino: Is that so?
Aiba: Yeah.
Sho: What is the limit of a vaccuum cleaner hose? (writing)
[Announcer: Stretching out the hose of a vaccuum cleaner straight ahead, they are challenging the length limit
of the hose. (writing) In the end, from how many metres will it be able to suck? (writing)]
Sho: We're going to make the instructors say they're speechless! (writing)
Jun: Switch on! (writing)
Girl: Ah~, it went!
Sho: It went!
Girl: Amazing~! Cool!
[writing: 2 men pursue a tissue for 3000 li (old unit of measure, apprx. 4km]
Sho: It's going slowly!
[Announcer: What is the limit of a straw's length that you can still blow a bubble with? (writing) In the end
from how many metres away can you blow a bubble? (writing) A surprising outcome. Also, can you make downward
-facing flowers bloom? (writing) They want to make them bloom downwards like this?]
Nino: Don't drop it.
[Announcer: Exactly what will happen? And a week later... writing: Leaving them inverted for a week.]
Nino: Curtain open! (writing)
[Announcer: What happened? (writing) Arashi risks their lives to investigate experiments that scholars have
wanted to try at least once! (writing) A scholar's dream: Will they be able to reach Tokyo Bay by riding on
an ice floe? (writing) A scholar thought-up experiment: will a butterfly be able to fly in zero gravity? (writing)
The scholars themselves are excited over the unforseen results! (writing) [Odoroki no Arashi! Experiments of the
Century that even scholars have no chance of predicting SP 2!] (writing) Friday at 7pm. After this there's a message
from Arashi. (writing)]
Sho: What you've seen here will be broadcast on March 23rd at 7pm, [Odoroki no Arashi! Experiments of the
Century that even scholars have no chance of predicting SP 2!] (writing) By all means please watch! Everyone,
please watch ne~! Look forward to it~!
[Announcer: Arashi risks their lives to investigate experiments that scholars have
wanted to try at least once!
Experiments of the
Century that even scholars have no chance of predicting SP 2!] (writing) Friday at 7pm.]
Ohno: That was an accident huh.
Nino: An accident, an accident.
Ogura: Just a little more huh.
Wow, to be honest I never got a chance to watch the last SP, so it was kind of cool to see the boat part:) Hehe, I wonder why poor Nino is the only one of them who gets seasickXDD But you would think by now the boys would realzie making vehicles out of paper ends in disaster;P The real thing is coming soon!^^
I put aside a few other projects that are on my list to try to do Utaban as fast as I could, but I only managed to get the first part done so far^^; I figured I might as well post it now, since it's been a few days already, look forward to the rest soon:D
Nakai: Appearing again after 2 months, this is Arashi, come on in!
Taka: Good evening!
All: Good evening.
Nakai: So, the last time you were here Ninomiya-kun was absent.
Nino: Yes!
Sho: That's right.
Nakai: Why were you absent again?
Nino: I went to Berlin. (writing)
Nakai: To do what? (writing)
Nino: The movie-
Nakai: In your private life? (writing)
Nino: No no, the movie's- I was invited to the Film festival, so I went.
[writing: Ninomiya participated in the Berlin Film Festival for [Letters from IwoJima].]
Nakai: So, as you would think, you chose them.
Nino: No, I said that I wanted to go on Utaban. But they kept saying 'please come, please come'. (writing)
Nakai: So today it's all five of Arashi.
Aiba: That's right ne.
Nino: That's right.
Nakai: So with 4 of you it's...A..Ara... (writing)
Sho: We don't have letters! (writing) We don't have letters;P
Nino: There's only 3 characters.
[writing: That would be...Kattun?]
Jun: There's only 3 characters.
Aiba: Wrong, wrong, that's a different group.
Nakai: So what's the reason behind Arashi?
Aiba: The reason behind Arashi is, we want to cause a storm, throughout the world, that's what Johnny-san told
me. (writing) To me.
Nakai: He said that, to Arashi. So are you causing one throughout the world?
Jun: Somewhat ne. (writing)
[writing: Right now it's still only light rain?]
Nino: Only, in Paris we're unbelievably popular. (writing)
Nakai: Arashi?
Nino: Arashi.
Nakai: Is that true?
Nino: It's true-
Nakai: Why Paris?
[writing: You're causing a storm in Paris?!]
Jun: But, surprisingly, I've heard it too. That Arashi is popular in Paris.
Sho: I'm telling you that's definitely a lie! (writing)
Nakai: Why are you telling lies?
Nino: I'm telling you it's not a lie! (writing) Sorry, sorry!
Nakai: We're friends?! (writing)
Nino: I didn't meanr to say it like that, sorry.
Nakai: We're childhood friends?! (writing)
Aiba: 'I'm telling you it's not a lie';P
[writing: Reckless remarks towards older brother Nakai are Leader Ohno-kun's department...]
Nino: This isn't a lie, it's true, it's true.
Nakai: What is, who's telling you this?
Nino: Everyine started telling me that.
[writing: The basis of [Arashi is very popular in Paris]
Sho: He didn some interviews over there too, and the people who did them-
Nino: That's right, they said that we're very popular.
Nakai: Ninomiya appeared alone in this...
Nino: That's right, that's right.
Nakai: In this 'letters'...
Nino: It's letters, well, it's [Letters from Iwojima].
Nakai: So then Arashi's name didn't come up?
Nino: That's right. But, they know us. And although Arashi is very popular in Arashi, they'd ask me if I could
feel that popularity.
Nakai: Isn't that strange?;P
[writing: Momentarily the originator of the reckless remarks...]
Aiba: They might have researched it ne, because Ninomiya-kun was coming.
Nakai: That could be it right? Um...
Jun: What is it?
Nakai: That's what Ninomiya thinks, but what does Ohno think? You don't know do you?
Ohno: We have more popularity than Nakai in Fujisawa. (writing)
Aiba: Nakai-san, Nakai-san!
Nino: Sorry, sorry!
Nakai: You, whose reputation are you trying to mess up by saying that! (writing)
Nino: Yes, sorry!
Aiba: Sorry-
Nakai: Whose reputation are you trying to mess up by saying that, you! (writing)
Jun: Sorry!
Nino: Sorry!
Nakai: That's my hometown, that's amazing! My friend's son wanted to see this, he's watching Arashi's segment.
(writing)
Aiba: Sorry!
Jun: Thanks.
Nakai: And you, just saying it and running away! These five are fairly harsh! (writing)
Aiba: Certainly.
Nino: Sorry.
Nakai: Be careful!
Nino: Sorry.
Sho: Sorry about that!
[writing: Round 1 is over]
Sho: Sorry about that.
Nino: Sorry!
Sho: Sorry!
[writing: His assistant thanking him for his trouble]
Nino: Ah, sorry.
Sho: Sorry about that.
Nakai: So, amidst all that you were doing Dome performances ne?
All: Yes.
Nakai: How was it?
[writing: Tell us about Arashi's first Dome concert...]
Sho: Well, as older brother Nakai-san said last time, about being careful about the guests at the top, we did
that.
Nakai: Oh, it bothers you ne, those guests, you feel sorry for them ne. Ah, and there's that, the price is the same
for everyone ne?
Sho: That's right ne.
Nakai: That high up you're like this. From up on that slope Arashi are like this.
Sho: That's right ne.
Nakai: That's why I said 'make sure you go up before the performance and check out the top'.
Sho: But, as much as we could we tried to get closer, in a way that would get the entire palace worked up. Yes.
Nakai: But you know, you feel like even though you're working hard it's not being conveyed ne?
Jun: Ah, I know. Even though you're dancing-
Nakai: It's like 'are you really even watching me??'
Nino: They're looking, they're looking.
Nakai: Even though they're looking it's like 'maybe I'm just doing this for myself?' In that vastness, in a
stadium that big you have to wonder if it's getting across. So that's why I think it's important to
be careful of the people at the very top.
Jun: That's right ne.
Sho: That's right ne.
Nino: That's right ne.
Nakai: What do you think Ohno?
Ohno: Nakai is small, so no matter where he goes he's small... (writing)
Jun: Nakai-san!
Aiba: Nakai-san!
Nino: He forgot to say '-san'.
Nakai: What is that?? There are things you say that are bad for you too! As opposed to what you might think,
even you're small! (writing)
Jun: Yes, that's true ne.
Nino: Sorry.
Jun: Sorry.
Nino: Sorry about that.
Nakai: No matter how you think about it, you're smaller than me!!
Sho: Sorry.
Nino: Sorry for that.
Nakai: You were laughing when he told it to you! (writing) So now I'm laughing.
Nino/Aiba: Sorry.
Nakai: I only got this far! I'm tired.
Jun: Somehow, somehow everyone's tired ne. (writing)
Nakai: Now, I have some questions...you're entering your twenties-
Nino: Aren't you looking at BoA-chan's part? (writing) We're all in our twenties!
[writing: Boa (receiving) *You're finally beginning your twenties... *But a lot of things have gotten bothersome...
Ishizaki: You're 20?]
Nino: Nakai-san!
Nakai: Boa-chan's 20, everyone;'s in their twenties...
[writing: BoA is being broadcast next week.]
Nino: You were looking at BoA-chan's pages ne.
Taka: You left an answering machine message for Nakai-kun?
Nino: Ah! That's right, that's right.
Taka: That's a good pretense;P
Jun: That's right, that story ne.
Aiba: That's right, that's right.
Nino: That's right, that's right.
[writing: The answering machine for Nakai-kun is...]
Nino: When I went to eat dinner with Tokio's Taichi-kun-
Nakai: You went to eat dinner together?
Nino: That's right. At the time we started talking about giving Nakai-kun a call, but although we called him he
didn't pick up, perhaps he was still working. So Taichi-kun left an incredibly polite message, he said something
like 'Right now I'm drinking with Ninomiya, if you have time please come' but...well, there's no reply...
(writing)
Taka: Huh?
Jun: Huh?
Nakai: Ah, it got bothersome. (writing) So Taichi-kun and Ninomiya-kun went drinking together?
Nino: that's right, that's right ne.
Nakai: Have I ever gone to eat dinner with Ninomiya? I haven't ne, up until now, in our private life.
Nino: Ah, we haven't, we haven't at all.
Nakai: I've got a number of times with Taichi-kun, in the past.
Jun: Let's go next time. With the five of us. (writing)
Aiba: The 6 of us.
Nakai: if there's a fight who's going to stop it?
Aiba: Ah, then the 7 of us. (writing)
Taka: I...I...I'm good thanks. (writing)
Nino: He's gotten tired!
Jun: Hey!
Nino: He's getting tired of it, 10metres.
Nakai: Taka-san started to get into a fighting pose there;P
Nino: Let's go have dinner.
Nakai: All five of you don't go? As you would expect?
[writing: Dinner meet-ups among the members...]
Sho: But, a while back, um, after Ninomiya and Aiba and I did an interview we went eating with one of Aiba's
classmates.
Nakai: With a classmate?
[writing: Sakurai, Ninomiya had dinner with Aiba and his classmate]
Aiba; Yes.
Nakai: With Aiba's classmate?
Aiba: Yes. And Ninomiya and Sakurai, the 4 of us.
Nakai: What is that? What kind of atmosphere is that?
Aiba: But ne, it was an incredibly good atmosphere. (writing)
Sho: Though he thinks that, there's no connection.
Nakai: It was unpleasant huh.
Aiba: Ah, is that so?
Nakai: Your friend was all worked up huh?
Aiba: He was-
Nakai: Like 'they're celebrities'.
Aiba: That's right, that's right, like 'it's Arashi, it's the real thing!'.
Nakai: That's how it is huh.
Aiba: That's how it was.
Nino: But he didn't tell us anything about it, he just said 'okay, let's go eat', and when we go he's sitting there
eating with a friend like normal.
Nakai: That's nog good. Even though I've done it too. (writing)
Aiba: You do? That-
Nakai: I do! Some friends from my hometown and I came to Tokyo. Everyone in the same shirts ne. (writing)
[writing: Nakai-kun and his friends from his hometown are drinking when...]
Nakai: We went to the Izataya restaurant, 6 or 7 of us, well, classmates and underclassmen, there were girls
and underclassmen too. So I got a call from Goro. (writing; SMAP?) Well, this is about 10~ years ago,
12 years ago I guess. It was before a live performance, something like 'teh configuration isn't so good,
I wanted to consult with Nakai-kun'. And I said 'well I'm with my hometown friends right now', and he said
'okay, I'll come there'. 'I'll come right after this'. Then when I told my hometown friends 'what should
we do, Goro is coming?' they were like 'Oh ain't that fine? Call him'. (writing) Even though he was already
coming. So then Goro gets there, and the guy's like 'ahh! it's the real thing huh?' and Goro was so surprised
he said 'ah, I'm truly terribly sorry'. (writing) He didn't think it would be that kind of atmosphere at
all. So then I was talking with Goro about various things, and he said he'd foot the bill, and I said thanks,
and asked what we should do next. And he said 'well...next I'll introduce you'. I was like 'eh? why?
it's okay, it's okay, after this I was going to do something with them' but he said 'since we're all
together, let's go'. He said 'there's a great bar in Aoyama'. Then my friend said 'is that true Ingaki-san?'
(writing). 'Then we're going! Let's go, et's go!' they said, so we went. When we did that, they were all like
'ah, what's all this, man' but then they kind of got scared. They, my hometown friends, when they get into
an atmosphere they're not familiar with they get really small. (writing)
Aiba: I see. I see, I see.
Nakai: Then they're like 'why Aoyama?', when they heard Aoyama they all said 'who?'. (writing) Really. So we all
went to Aoyama with Inagaki-kun, to this dark little place, a dive I guess. They were all like 'uwa, what is
this?', we opened the door and it was like a fortune-teller's place. (writing) It was incredibly cramped,
just one tbale in each corner. So when I said 'Goro, is this okay?' he opened the door and people yelled
out 'Hello! Goro!' and foreigners came rushing up. (writing) So then my friends were like 'foreigners??'
and panicking. (writing) Like 'what is this Inagaki-san~, this is a foreigners' town!'. But he was like
'have a seat'. 'It's fine, sit down', Goro was in fine form., like it was his own world. So there were
like 6-7 of us crowded around this tiny little table. One of the guys was like 'oh man, this is bad~!'.
(writing) Since then I haven't gone drinking with Goro. (writing) OK? (writing)
[writing: It's OK]
Nakai: Alright, let's go. Arashi's 'speak freely'.
[writing: From here the Arashi members will talk about things concerning each other they normally wouldn't say.]
Nakai: So, this is Arashi's 'speak freely', from one member to another they can speak freely at this opportunity.
Starting with this, tada.
Taka: I got a a call from Aiba-chan and got startled, by Matsumoto. (writing)
[writing: Concerning a phone call from Aiba to Matsumoto...]
Nakai: What's this about?
Jun: I rarely get phone calls, from the other members.
Nakai: Is that so? You don't call each other or email each other?
Jun: We meet quite a bit, on the regular TV shows.
Nakai: That's right ne.
Jun: So there's a sense of 'we should talk at those kind of times', so we pretty much don't use the phone.
Nakai: It's kind of gross-
Jun: Also no emails.
Nakai: It's awkward? it has an awkward feel to it?
Jun: So that time, for the first time in ages 'Aiba Masaki' was on the screen. First off, the moment I saw it
I thought 'ah, this is bad'. (writing)
Nakai: 'Something's happened'.
Jun: "Something's happened'.
Nakai: 'There might be trouble'.
Jun: Like 'why is he calling me at this time of night', it was fairly early. It was nighttime.
Nakai: Ah, it wasn't evening?
Jun: Not evening, nighttime. In the middle of going somewhere I got the call. So, although I thought 'this is work so
it's okay if I don't answer', but I thought 'something night have happened' so I answered. So then we had a
conversation about the live performances and such but...it was kind of...
Nakai: Right, you kind of felt like the conversation wasn't relaying back and forth properly?
Aiba: We were ra...ri-relaying back and forth incredibly well. (writing)
Nakai: Ra-ri-re;P
Aiba: That's right;P
Nakai: You're not relaying right now.
Aiba: Although we were able to relay back and forth, we didn't know when to hang up. (writing)
Nakai: How long did you talk?
Aiba: About half an hour. (writing)
Jun: We talked quite a bit ne.
Nakai: Half an hour?? That's fairly long.
Aiba: That's right ne.
Jun: That's right, so in that amount of time we started talking about a lot of things.
Nakai: If you were talking about a guy and girl that would be the beginning of love. (writing)
Nino: A half hour conversation.
Aiba: Half an hour?
Nakai: That's right! I mean, you don't talk to girls on the phone for half an hour.
All: We don't.
Nakai: But if it's a girl you like you get a little worked up and get talkative. When it becomes more than half
an hour I start thinking 'huh? could this be love?' (writing)
Aiba: Ah, so that's where it is.
Sho: Conversely, there was a time when I called Ninomiya-kun, about the concerts.
[writing: Concerning the phone call from Sakurai to Ninomiya...]
Sho: The two of us were talking about things we weren't going to do so I kind of wanted to call him. I kind of
got nervous after all... (writing) Conversely, I was going to write it in a work memo... (writing)
Nakai: Isn't that love too? (writing)
Sho: Love?
Jun: Love?;P
Nakai: That's love~!
Aiba: That's love?
Nakai: Like when you're in elementary school or junior high, when there's someone you like you get into a temper.
And when you try to analyze it you can't break it down, so you end up overdoing it, like it's 'such and
such'. I think that's the same thing.
Sho: It's love? (writing)
Nino: Hey! What are you saying?
Aiba: I think that's a gross thing to say.
Nakai: Ohno isn't in them, the telephone hijinks?
Ohno: I'm-
Nakai: Do you have a phone?
Ohno: I have one.
Nakai: Do you use a cellphone?
Ohno: I use one, but I only get calls once in a while. I don't answer.
Nakai: You don't answer? Ah, that's no good huh.
Jun: it's no good.
Nakai: Who did you get a call from?
Jun: I called him about 3 times, and he didn't answer ne. (writing)
Nakai: Why don't you answer? What is that? Do you know the 'beep beep beep'?
Ohno: I know it.
Jun: Did the name come up?
Ohno: 'MatsuJun' comes up. I thought 'I guess it's no big deal'. (writing)
Taka: That's weird!
Aiba: that's weird.
Sho: Weird!
Nino: But he's called me.
Jun: Riidaa has?
Nino: Captain has. He has.
[writing: Concerning the phone call from Ohno to Ninomiya...]
Nino: Around 1am. I was already asleep, but he called me about 3 times.
Jun: Oh, Riidaa did?
Nino: That's right. I thought 'what is it?' and answered right? He was fall-over drunk, he said something like
'ah Nino-chan I love you~'. (writing)
Nakai: What? You call him Nino-chan? Does he normally call you that?
Nino: No, it's 'Nino' ne.
Nakai: 'Nino', then what? When you get drunk you add '-chan'?
Ohno: I have no idea, I don't remember. (writing)
Nino: So then, somehow, a friend of a friend was a fan of Nino-chan, and they wanted to talk to me no matter
what, so they said 'give me a chance!'. (writing)
Jun: He's a member of the same group!
Nakai: What? Are you a pipe? (writing)
Ohno: A pipe?
Nakai: You were acting as pipe between the fan and Ninomiya? The one acting as a pipe is a member? (writing)
Ohno: There's none of that kind of thing.
Nakai: So then he was with this friend and he's like 'it's Nino-chan right~'. (writing) I'll get Nino-chan on the
phone right away~!;P You were getting all full of yourself huh. You were getting all full of yourself
right Ohno?
Ohno: Netx time I'll give you a call Nakai-chan. (writing)
Jun: Sorry.
Nino: It's 'Nakai-san' right?
Nakai: Who-chan?! (writing) What-chan, you? It's not 'chan'!
Nino: 'Nakai-san' right?
Aiba: 'Nakai-san' ne?
Nino: Sorry.
Sho: Sorry.
Nakai: I'd unwillingly give in to 'kun'! What's 'chan?! (writing)
Nino: Sorry.
Nino/Aiba: Sorry. Sorry.
Nakai: Only big shots from FujiTV can say that. (writing)
HahahahahaXDDD If only they could do this more often, watching these two go at it absolutely makes my dayXDDDD And you could hear the dread in Nakai's voice every time he asked Ohno a question, cause he could see Ohno laughing already;P Especially when he said he was smallXDD And poor Jun, Ohno won't answer when he calls!O_o But he'll drunk-dial Nino in the middle of the night to confess his love and let fans steal his phoneXD But apparently Aiba and Jun are on the verge of love, and Sho is already in love with Nino...phones are awesome, 'reach out and touch someone' indeedXP Kawaii~X3
But, my present for all the Jun fans, the Voce interview<3<3<3
Credit to Mori's pdbox for the scans!X3 You can not believe how much of a distraction these were for me...<3<3

The MatsuJun you're shown/The MatsuJun you see
Currently, he happens to be undertaking the starring role of Ban Shougo in the serial drama [Bambi~no!]. Personifying
the comic's individual as a flesh and blood human being, Matsumoto Jun has showmanship and strength. He says that
[I begin to want to distance myself from the standard image of Matsumoto Jun]. The whereabouts of the desires
that overcome that self-consciousness, the things reflected ahead of his gaze are...

If it suits you, I think anything can work.
I think that pretty things are pretty.
But, I sense the other person through their entire ambiance.
I guess the most cool would be the women who make everything match with the time, place, and occasion. With that
as well, when we're relaxing together just the two of us it's a problem for me if they deck themselves out in
an incredible amount of make-up (laughs). Seriously speaking, it may be that people who are able to change their
hairstyle and make-up depending on the situation are enjoying expressing themselves, but at the same time I think
that for those people there's also a consideration for their partner and surroundings. My heart is moved by that
kindness.
In the original comic book for the drama [Bambi~no!] that I'm doing right now there was a part about [when making
the soup that becomes an element in all cooking, even though the receipe may be the same, depending on the person
making it there could be a completely different flavor. Cooking is a person. It's getting people to eat the person
you are]. It seemed to me that it would probably be the same even with make-up. No matter what, even if they're
following fashion with the same accessory and make-up, after all, in the end that person's true nature is something
that can be seen through it all. If you were to put it another way, for that very reason it's like no matter what
make-up you take a risk on it works after all.
Since I'm still young even as I continue saying I don't feel any allure from things on the surface, I think pretty
things are pretty, it's better to maintain oneself than not. But if it's to the point where you're overdoing your
ornamentation, I prefer when it leaves a natural feeling... Despite that ne, I don't look only at the things on
the surface of the other person. Things like bearing, manners, I sense that person through their entire ambiance.
In terms of image I like people who are straightforward. When we talking as well, them being straightforward makes
it easier to say things. If they're careening forward that feeling of burning eagerness won't let me calm down,
on the other hand, when I'm able to lean on them I begin to feel an interest. When they're straightforward I get
the feeling I can properly take it in, I'm able to feel the other person's richness as a person.
People are incredibly complicated aren't they? I can't grasp everything with only my own heart. So, I think that
I want to lvoe everyone. Not being able to satisfy that, I go every which way. I like the human-ness of the feelings
of girls deciding to make themselves pretty. Because I think that even the me who has such deep desires, while at
the same time has weaknesses, will in the same way continue to pursue something from now on as well.

Appearing like this, I've truly been weak...then, at the same time I'm a person with incredibly deep desires...
Even when it comes to [being shown] and [seeing], whether it's conscious or unconconsious, ultimately, doing that
I think has an incredible relation to the elements of my true nature.
For example, in an "Arashi" live performance, I challenge myself to combine the standard songs into the core of
the configuration with the aim of [definitely making them happy] or [so that they'll get worked up]. Even when it
comes to the habitual Matsumoto Jun of "Arashi" that I want people to see, there are similar points. With regards
to the basic image of me that a lot of people are holding, setting that as the core of an unbroken circle, I naturally
have a consciousness of acting in a way that won't break me outside of that circle very much.
However ne. Sometimes I come to want to break out of that circle. For example, last summer I had incredibly long
extensions and I would gather the hair from the side at the back. In reality, before I did it I was predicting
[they probably won't accept this huh]. But, that hair matched perfectly with things like my private life western
clothing. I wanted to do it, so I did it. Then, the reaction among the fans was actually really bad though. What
is it...I suppose that doing that would be wanting to distance myself from the standard Matsumoto Jun. Wanting
to be a person who can act on their whims...of course, both experience and the passing years add up, I continue
to have a consciousness of having to become an adult, of having to develop a good balance as a person. Because
even when it comes to that balance, I begin to want to break it.
I might want to struggle with the underside of weakness.
Although you tend to be seen as an incredibly strong person when you say something like [I want to be myself]...
I said it earlier as well, but my true nature is probably weak. In front of people I admire I become incredibly
nervous, like [What do I do, what do I do...], I pretty much can't come straight out and tell the person I like
[I like you]. I'm fairly contradictary. For example, even when it comes to something I've created myself, despite
wanting a lot of people to see it there is a part of me that can't honestly express those feelings. In terms of the
taming of areas of self-consciousness on how to appear to other people, even if I'm able do it well when acting
a role, that might not be a very strong point for the real me. On the flip side of that weakness, since I also
think that there may also be the feeling of [I want to be myself], it's like I unintentionally start to want to
fight it...
Although fighting is something that often isn't able to bring happiness, I also think that it's something good.
I mean, it's the proactive act of bringing yourself out right. In that sense, I think that if the girl's make-up
suits her then anything will work.
There are times when I begin to want to go to a place far off from the "standard Matsumoto Jun"...because I'm
a person with deep desires.

He makes my soul vibrate like a plucked guitar string<3 I was so impressed with him for talking about the extensions, I always thought it was unfair of the fans to make such a big fuss about it, it;s his own body after all...>_< So for him to say he did it knowing that it may not be accepted, that made me feel a sudden deeper respect for him:3 I personally loved them, so I may be biased, (although I hated them at first), but I can totally understand him wanting to break out of the mold he's in, be it self-imposed or not. And that he can be aware of his weaknesses is a good thing, we need to know what we lack to know what we need...^^ As always, I love reading his thoughts and philosophies, it always sends me on a soul-searching path of my own, and deepens my appreciation for him as a person<3
Well, that's all for today, hope you had fun!:) Take care, have a good week, and don't forget the Music Station performance is coming soon!:D!
