Global warming = local cooling?

Hi everyone^^ I was able to post again much sooner than I thought I would, a nice surprise for me. Tomorrow afternoon I leave for a business trip to Ottawa...it'll be 'run home from school and hop in a cab to the airport'XD My coworker wants to get my drunk (he does that with all of the women in the office when they go on business trips with him...it's not a threatening thing, just some weird personality quirk where he likes to drink people under the table^^;) and I'm trying to mentally prepare myself to resistXD
As for the title of today's post, Winnipeg has been experiencing the worst spring/summer I can ever remember:S It's a full 10 degrees below normal, we still have frost warnings on a weekly basis, and the wind and rain is not much help. According to some nutty woman at work (who has compiled a book about how the province is doomed, based on 80 years of weather recordsO_o) it's going to keep getting worse and worse, and eventually the growing season will be short we won't even be able to grow crops:O Now, she did predict this summer's weather last fall, so she's not completely off her rocker, but seriously? This is nuts. Apparently we will be one the places that actually gets colder due to global warming, and it becomes hard to ignore when this kind of weather continues. It makes me start thinking about what I can do to stop this crazy cycle we're in...

And conveniently, I decided to translate Green. Yes, not very helpful. I will try harder;)
