relax
Yay, I'm back with more translations~:D I had a nice long weekend so I'm not feeling so behind now, but frankly somehow I'm never where I want to be...;P Which reminds me, I haven't even started my xmas shopping yet, I honestly have very little idea what I'm getting, and half the time when I go to get stuff I end up spending the whole day at the mall...cause I get side-tracked and try on clothes and stuffXD Hey, it's xmas for me too!;P Ah, it's times like these I want to be able to stop time, then I'd never be behind again *dreaming*^-^
Anyway, what I have for today is last week's Shukudai-kun (yes I know a new one just came out today...I'm trying my best;P) with Yasu Megumi-san and her beloved nattou...

Sho: This is the beginning of Arashi no Shukudai-kun! Ogura-san...from what I hear photos are a hobby of yours.
Ogura: Yup. I like taking pictures.
Sho: What kind of things do you take pictures of?
Ogura: Nude girls I guess.
[writing: see Ogura]
Nino: That huh..?
Sho: That level of old-man...
Aiba: Ogu-san-
Jun: I want to take some~XP
Aiba: Whose nudes are they?
[writing: see Aiba]
Nino: That's not important! Don't get into that here, you two!
Sho: So if you were to take pictures of us, of course they'd be nude...
Ogura: Oh no, boys don't interest me.
Nino: So next time we do a raw photoshoot we could get Ogura-san to take them for us.
Aiba: And we could take one in exchange too ne.
[writing: see Aiba]
Sho: I see ne.
Aiba: Please take our pass-card pictures ne.
[writing: Japan Television Pass-card, Full Name: Ogura Tomoaki, Belonging to: X)X_X]
Ogura: Hey...
Nino: That would be your-
Ogura: -you guys don't have pass-cards right?
Jun: We do, we do.
Aiba: We do.
Ogura: Ah, that's it! That's how it is with your career, cause ne, I get through on my face alone!
[writing: see Ogura]
Ogura: Take that!
[writing: see Ogura]
Sho: Today's guest is Yasu Megumi-san~! Come in!
[writing: Today's guest, Yasu Megumi. From the guest to the audience...from the audience to Arashi...various homeworks
are given out, it's a show with audience participation. Announcer: Arashi no Shukudai-kun is where, from the guests
to the audience, from the audience to Arashi, various homeworks are given out, and the answers are revealed gradually
throughout the show. writing: In the end the guest discusses an unexpected side of themself! Announcer: Furthermore,
the guest will reveal in conversation an unknown, unexpected side of themself.]
Sho: Well then let's go to the first homework without delay, please Ogura-san.
[writing: Homeworkm from Yasu Megumi-san to the audience; investigate and sumbit different ways of eating nattou.]
Ogura: see writing.
[writing: see above]
Megumi: Yes!
Ogura: That's got kind of an ominous feel to it ne?
Jun: But ne, it'll be okay, Yassan is here.
Ogura: It'll be okay?
Jun: It'll be okay.
Megumi: I really like the taste of nattou, my father's family home is out in the country in Ibaraki-ken, so our
whole family was raised to eat it.
[writing: She loves it so much she has eaten three packs in one sitting. She wants to know ways to eat it other than
with soy sauce. Announcer: Although Yassan loves it so much she eats three packs in one sitting, it seems that she
wants to know ways to eat it other than with soy sauce. writing: Different ways of eating Nattou, total submission
count: 462. Announcer: This time, from across the country there were 462 submissions for this homework. writing:
Different ways of eating Nattou ranking. Announcer: From everyone's submissions, we will reveal the best 5 different
ways of eating nattou. Furthermore, after that- writing: We introduce a minority's intense way of eating it.
Announcer: We'll introduce the intense way of eating it from a select few.]
Nino: There were many homeworks.
Sho: Many?
Megumi: Eh~
Aiba: Here ne, although they're different mattou we can try them ne. This is number 5!
Nino: Yes, here I go, this is it, 'don'!
[writing: Number 5, Nattou mayonnaise, 29 submissions.]
Aiba: This ne, is nattou mayonnaise.
Megumi: Eh~?
[writing: How to make; 1 pack of nattou, 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise.]
Jun: No soy sauce?
Aiba: No soy sauce.
Jun: Eh? Not even seasoning?
Aiba: Not even seasoning, it's mayonnaise.
Jun: It's only mayonnaise?
Aiba: Yes.
Megumi: The smell is that of nattou ne.
Aiba: It's nattou ne.
Sho: I've actually tried this once at home.
Aiba: Was it tasty?
Jun: Oh really?
Sho: It was extremely unpleasant!
[writing: see Sho]
Sho: For me ne.
Aiba: Next we'll look at number 4.
Megumi: Yes.
Aiba: For the moment let's just open it and see, this is number 4, tada.
[writing: Number 4; Nattou spaghetti, 35 submissions.]
Aiba: Nattou spaghetti.
Megumi: Ah, so there was this kind of thing ne...
Ogura: That's a different association ne? If you mix nattou with starchy things it makes it delicious ne.
Jun: Ah, it does ne.
Sho: Like pasta-
Aiba: It's the reverse concept ne.
[writing: see Aiba]
Sho: It's not the reverse!
Nino: This is a linear extension of the idea.
Aiba: Linear huh?
[writing: An airhead today as well.]
Aiba: Well, we'll go on to the next, this is number 3.
Nino: Yes.
Aiba: This is it. It's nattou and sugar.
[writing: Number 3; nattou and sugar, 52 submissions.]
Megumi: Su- Eh~? Is this going to be okay?
Jun: I've done this.
Megumi: Eh?!
Ogura: This comes out in the countryside a lot, that they put sugar in, especially in the north-east ne.
[writing: How to make; 1 pack of nattou, 1 teaspoon of sugar]
Megumi: Ah, is that so?
Jun: I've done that, I used to put a lot in.
All: Eh~
Sho: But you're not doing it lately?
Jun: I don't do it lately ne, I'm worried about diabetes.
[writing: see Jun]
Sho: What?!
Megumi: Are you okay?
Jun: Although I don't particularly need to-
Nino: Yes yes, worrywart.
Aiba: That's early ne. Lastly, number 2 is tangential, number three has 52 submissions and number 2 has 55. Let's
see this one.
Sho: So only 3 apart, only 3.
Aiba: Tada!
[writing: Number 2; nattou curry, 55 submissions.]
Aiba: Nattou curry.
Megumi: Ah! As you would think...this is nicely-
Jun: But, it is put in curry ne.
Megumi: It is ne.
Jun: There's amazingly not much nattou in this.
Megumi: There's big beans in there ne.
Jun: It's looking sort of like soy bean curry.
[writing: see Jun]
Ogura: It's like soy beans ne?
Sho: But Aiba-kun, we've come this far ne, and the expectations for number 1 are high.
Aiba: They are.
Sho: So it'll be like, 'oh, right, right' 'oh, right, right' 'EH~?' right?
Aiba: That's how it is. Since ne, it jumps suddenly from 55 submissions to 82!
[writing: see Aiba]
Sho: There it is!
Nino: So wouldn't this one be much better then?
[writing: see Nino. His previous service was pointless?]
Jun: Which one is bettter?
Nino: Well well, let's see! Maybe it's-
Aiba: That's right, that's right, you don't know till you've seen it. If you want to know I'll tell you, but-
Jun: Number one!
Aiba: -if you don't want to know I won't tell you! Tada! Nattou toast!
[writing: Number one; nattou toast, 82 submissions.]
Ogura: Why is this one number one?!
Sho: But, I get it.
[writing: How to make; 1 piece pf toast, 1 pack of nattou, one piece of nori.]
Sho: This is the most popular way among all the different methods right?
Aiba: That's how it is. So now we'd like Yassan to taste some of the ones here that interest her ne.
Nino: There are some ne. Some of the ones that you don't know anyway.
Megumi: Well the ones I can't imagine are the sugar and the mayonnaise ne.
Ohno: So, go ahead.
Sho: Go ahead.
Aiba: So go with those two for now, Yassan.
Megumi: I'm the only one eating?
[writing: see Megumi]
Aiba: That's right, that's right.
Ogura: That's right, that's how it is.
[writing: 'I love nattou!'. Nattou mayonnaise. Announcer: First, she tries the one with the familiar flavor,
nattou mayonnaise.]
Sho: Please! How is it?
Aiba: Amazing-
Sho: The strings are hanging out all over the place ne.
[writing: see Sho]
Aiba: There's strings on you, you should wipe them away.
Megumi: It's kind of like the nattou has gotten creamy ne. It's not bad ne.
Sho: It's not bad?
Aiba: And if you were asked if you wanted it with or without?
Megumi: With!
All: Oh~!
[writing: 'I love nattou!'. Nattou and sugar. Announcer: Next is nattou and sugar. There are people who eat it
like this?]
Sho: It's sweet, it's sweet ne?
Megumi: It's dewishous!
[writing: see Megumi]
Sho: You're kidding, it's good?
Aiba: It's delicious?
Megumi: It's delicious ne.
Ogura: You were so happy you said 'dewishous'.
Megumi: it's like toffee.
Sho: Eh~
Megumi: So it's extra tasty.(garbled)
Jun: It's amazing ne.
Ogura: But there isn't a guest who's pulled this many strings ne.
[writing: see Ogura]
Aiba: there isn't ne.
Megumi: But this is delicious.
Sho: Seriously?
Aiba: Delicious?
Sho: Is it okay if I...?
[writing: see Sho]
Megumi: Is it okay if I have one more bite?
[writing: see Megumi]
Sho: Ah, yes yes.
Jun: She wants to eat it that much;P Is it okay to depend on her?
Ohno: Sho-kun and nattou...
Sho: You're done?
Megumi: Yes.
Aiba: Sakurai-kun likes nattou?
Sho: Yup!
Jun: Are you kind of aiming for a gross food-related commerical?
[writing: see Sho]
Aiba: It's gross huh, really;P
Ohno: Amazing ne.
[writing: Bull's-eye?!]
Aiba: That's gross food.
Ohno: Amazing.
Aiba: Wow, amazing.
Ohno: It's like a spider-web huh.
Sho: Hold this, hold this, hold this.
Jun: He looks like a kid.
[writing: Pyong!]
Jun: Go farther, go father!
Aiba: Careful, careful, careful!
Sho: This is tasty!
Ohno: It's tasty?
Megumi: It's delicious ne!
Sho: This is tasty!
Aiba: It's like spaghetti!
[writing: see Aiba]
Nino: All right, but it away.
Aiba: That's enough, that's enough. There are various ways of doing it like this right? But-
Jun: These are popular ne?
Aiba: Exactly. This time, in contrast, we're going to do the minor ones.
[writing: see Aiba]
Jun: I see.
Sho: The really low ones!
All: All right...
[writing: Different ways of eating nattou, we reveal the minority opinions all at once.]
Ogura: It's me now right!
[writing: see Ogura]
Aiba: That's right ne. Cause after this it's everyone ne. First please open that one, Ninomiya-kun. Tada!
[writing: Submission from Omame-chan (bean-chan) in Oaka metropolitan area, as well as four others; Nattou
compotage, 5 submissions.]
Aiba: It's nattou compotage.
All: Eh~
Nino: Ah, it stinks~!
Jun: This you just drink, you don't really put it on any rice or anything.
Aiba: yes!
Ogura: Here you go!
[writing: see Ogura]
Jun: No, why don't you do it first;P
Nino: Please show us! Your results up until now.
[writing: see Nino]
Jun: How is it?
Ogura: Well! If it was Ohno it woul probably get rave reviews!
[writing: see Ogura]
Sho: Other than Ohno?
Ogura: I get the feeling that it's better if everyone does it separately ne.
Sho: It seems like the food and drug people are going to come down on us ne.
Aiba: That's right ne.
Megumi: It doesn't match ne.
Ogura: It doesn't match.
Aiba: Each person has their own liking for things ne.
Megumi: It doesn't suit me I should say.
Aiba: That's right.
Nino: You're kind of reeking of lies huh!
[writing: see Nino]
Aiba: Well well, let's go.
Nino: Yes.
Aiba: Is it okay to go?
Megumi: Yes.
Aiba; That one, tada!
Megumi: Eh?!
[writing: Submission from Matsui-san in Kanagawa-ken and 2 others; nattou and vanilla ice cream, 3 submissions.]
Aiba: Nattou and vanilla!
Megumi: Eh, is that so?
Aiba: Ice cream-hey!
Nino: There's someone who left on their own.
[writing: see Nino]
Aiba: Ogu-san, come on.
Jun: Ne, you have to do it for us.
Megumi: Eh? Why did they put them together?
Jun: So, go ahead and try it.
Sho: Teacher?
Jun: How is it?
Ogura: *snort*
[writing: see Ogura]
Ogura: It's different huh.
Ohno: It's not different right Ogura-san?
Ogura: It's tasty.
[writing: see Ogura]
Sho: You're kidding! Tasty?
Megumi: It goes together?
Sho: You're kidding.
Ogura: You know ne, I was thinking, 'what would they say if I said it was tasty?':P
[writing: see Ogura]
Ogura: I was thinking 'what should I do?':P
Jun: It's tasty?
Ogura: It's tasty. Taste it and see. Ice cream and azuki (sweet bean) really suit each other ne.
Jun: uh-huh, it suits it ne.
Nino: How is it? How was it?
Ogura: It works right? It really does work for her!
Megumi: I might do this at home.
[writing: see Megumi]
Aiba: Shall we go to the next one? Tada! Nattou and yogurt.
[writing: Submission from Yutanpo-san in Hokkaido and 1 other; nattou yogurt, 2 submissions.]
Megumi: Ahh, this one's intense huh~.
Aiba: 'Yo! This wholesome combo!'
[writing: see Aiba]
Jun: It works doesn't it?
Megumi: But-
Nino: Oh, there it goes!
Sho: There it goes! Teacher...?
Ogura: What is this?
[writing: see Ogura]
Aiba: What's that mean?
Ogura: This doesn't taste like yogurt at all, all I can taste is glucose. You can't taste it.
Megumi: What is this?
Ogura: It's like the nattou kind of got injured huh?
[writing: see Ogura]
Jun: It seems...? What does that mean, 'it got injured'?
Sho: How is it?
Megumi: It's gross~!
Sho: It's gross?
Megumi: It'th supa nethlity.
Sho: 'it'th supa nethlity'??'P
Ogura: It's super tasty.
Ohno: Yup. It's nattou.
[writing: see Ohno]
Sho: Why would you make that kind of obvious comment?
[writing: He aimed too high and slid down]
Megumi: Eh, is it, is it delicious?
Nino: That's not what we were looking for.
Ohno: It's delicious.
Megumi: Delicious...
Aiba: Let's move on to the one everyone's been waiting for ne.
Jun: Yes, this one.
Ogura: I for sure won't be able to do this one, the number one.
Jun: What kind of food is it?
Aiba: Japanese ne.
[writing: see Aiba]
Megumi: But if it's Japanese then it'll match up right?
Aiba: It's Japanese.
Megumi: I have the feeling that it'll be okay.
Sho: Well, nattou is Japanese to begin with right?
Aiba: Yes.
Ogura: So would it be better to eat this on rice?
[writing: see Ogura]
Aiba: Ah! Ah! Ogu-san-ah! So will you eat it?
Nino: Eat it!
Ogura: Oh no, I won't eat it, there's no rice.
Aiba: Rice-
Jun: There's the rice.
[writing: see Jun]
Aiba: There is some.
Ogura: You'er kidding! Now I've done it!
Jun: Here it comes.
Aiba: So Ogu-san, you can eat it on that rice. Open!
Jun: All right!
Aiba: It's nattou with brown-sugar syrup.
[writing: Submission from Hacchi-san in Aichi-ken; Nattou with brown-sugar syrup, 1 submission.]
Ogura: What is that?
Aiba: Ogu-san, please taste it for us! Ogu-san, put it on the rice.
Ogura: I said glucose didn't I!
[writing: see Ogura]
Ogura: It makes me think of black soy beans...
Sho: It's got the worst appearance huh.
[writing: see Sho]
Megumi: It's a visual shock ne.
[writing: see Megumi]
Sho: It's a visual shock. Hey, what is a visual shock?
Ohno: That's kind of amazing...that's amazing.
Aiba: How is it?
Megumi: Ah, hmm. Mmm?
Sho: That's not really-
Ogura: Does it seem like you could eat it if you put it on rice?
Nino: What happened?
Megumi: this is delicious too.
Aiba: You're kidding ! Delicious?!
Ogura: Well, since you said it was delicious with the sugar earlier, I thought this might also be delicious.
Ohno: The stickiness is amazing.
Megumi: It won't separate! It's kind of dirty-looking.
All: It's okay.
Ogura: Even if it was on your face it wouldn't be dirty.
Megumi: It's fairly-
Ogura: My wishes are getting dirtier and dirtier.
[writing: see Ogura]
Sho: Father!!
[writing: An off-color explosion!]
Nino: There's the off-color-ness, there it is!
Jun: So, together with rice.
Megumi: Well...when you put it on rice it's kind of like 'huh?', but just the way it is it's delicious.
All: Eh~
Megumi: It's kind of like the sugar ne.
Jun: It's like a snack then?
Ohno: If it was on toast-
Nino: That would do it ne.
Ohno: -it looks like it would be tasty.
Aiba: I see ne. That would bring it out ne.
Ogura: That's a definite possibility.
Sho: This is tasty!
Aiba: Tasty?!
Sho: Seriously.
Aiba: If you put the nattou on it it'll work.
[writing: Toast]
Sho: Umm-
Nino: Then you do it!
[writing: see Nino]
Jun: Just put it on like it's marmalade.
Ogura: I don't know if this is like marmalade. Put it all on, put it all on!
[writing: see Ogura]
All: Eh~?!
Aiba: Ogu-san-
Ogura: It's not 'eh~'!
[writing: see Ogura]
Nino: You got him mad.
Sho: That's the worst sound too huh.
[writing: see Sho]
Ohno: What's that?
Aiba: It'th thuper tathty!
Jun: That looks tasty ne.
Ohno: It's tasty isn't it.
Sho: So how was the nattou homework?
Megumi: It's smelly ne.
[writing: see Megumi. 00-san's image homework. Announcer: Next is 'image' homework. We received images from the

Ogura: Yasu Megumi-san's homework; 'What did you do last night?'
[writing: see Ogura. Submissions were made on the image homework 'Yassan, what did you do last night?']
Sho: What kind of image-
Jun: Spur of the moment?
Sho: -do you have Yassan? Spur of the moment?
Megumi: Spur of the moment is it? It's not nattou? Is it okay?
[writing: see Megumi]
Sho: It's not nattou.
[writing: see Sho]
Sho: 'Nattou' is not the image you created. So, how does everyone in the audience view Yassan? Please watch
the VTR, here we go.
[writing: Submission from AnAn-san in Tokyo metropolitan area; what did you do last night? Announcer: Yasu Megumi,

Fake Megumi: Eh~?!
[writing: *thud* Got told she smelled like the Showa era by an elderly person. Announcer: see writing.]
Sho: I guess you have the feel of someone old fashioned.
[writing: see Sho]
Megumi: But that is-
Aiba: It might have happened several times...
Megumi: I'm often told that I'm old.
[writing: see Megumi]
Aiba: Which is in your room, flooring or tatami?
Megumi: It's flooring.
Aiba: It's flooring?

[writing: see Jun]
Sho: Not lately ne.
Megumi: I'm often told by those around me that I'm old, or other such things ne.
Jun: In actuality, in terms of your fans, are there a lot who are older?

Megumi: Ah, there might be a fair number of old men, people like Ogura-san...
[writing: see Megumi]
Sho: Eh~
Ogura: You just come out and say it ne.
[writing: see Ogura]
Nino: Megumi-san, everyone's working hard to cheer you on.
[writing: see Nino]
Aiba: Jus-
Jun: You just came out and called him an old man huh?
Sho: So, now we kind of have something. I think we'd like to do a little side bit. I'd like to check everyone's
Sho-word. (from Showa and word)
All: Sho-word?
[writing: Everyone will simultaneously announce a word that comes to mind in regards to a certain topic to check
for {Showa people}]
Sho: I'll bring up a topic, everyone please reply simultaneously with the word that comes to mind. Shall I start
with the first topic?
All: Yes.
Sho: Speaking of one-shot gags...
[writing: Topic, when speaking of one-shot gags]
Megumi: One-shot gags?
Sho: It's the one-shot gag that comes to you.
Megumi: With teh punchline too?
Sho: With the punchline too.
Jun: Well, let's say it and see.
Sho: Ready, and-

Megumi: That's Ruu Ooshiba-san right?
[writing: see Megumi]
Aiba: That's it.
Sho: When we started this year you said it a lot.
Aiba: That's right. But I think there's one most important part.
Nino: Do it.
Aiba: Catch catch catch! That's how it went right? Didn't it go like that?
Nino: So, what about Ohno-san?
Ohno: A-in. (Gag/catch-phrase of Alex Ramirez, baseball player for Japanese team the Swallows)

Sho: Are you in acutality airheaded?
Megumi: How~ well, I have done things like have the zipper here on a skirt completely open when i went out of the house.
Sho: So that really isn't a lie is it?
[writing: see Sho]
Megumi: I guess that could be so...
Ogura: That's not airheaded, that might be juvenile attention deficit.
[writing: see Ogura]
Megumi: Also, when I went into the studio for a photoshoot, when I went into the studio they sent me to makeup
and one of the staff came flying over in a panic. They said {You didn't injure your foot did you?}.
I said {Eh? Why do you ask?}, and apparently the sandal I'd taken off was all covered in blood.
[writing: see Megumi]
Ogura: Covered in blood?
Jun: Eh?
Megumi: So when they said that I took a look and it was completely cut up.
[writing: see Megumi]
Sho: Eh?!
Megumi: And it didn't hurt at all.
[writing: see Megumi]
Jun: It didn't hurt at all?;P
Megumi: It didn't hurt, but for about two days after that it really hurt.
[writing: see Megumi]
Sho: Eh~
Ogura: EH, have you done those reflex tests like on your knees?
Megumi: Ah! Like this right?
[writing: *Thud!*. Airheaded after all?!]
Nino: Yasu-chan this is fairly expensive, so we'll ask you not to do that.
Sho: Have there been any kind of hazy things when you were smaller?
Megumi: I'd immediately have wild ideas about anything ne.
[writing: see Megumi]
Sho: What do you mean by that?
Megumi: For example...if there was a guy I thought was kind of nice ne, I'd immediately start imaginging that
person's whole life.
[writing: see Megumi]
Sho: Yes yes yes.
Megumi: You don't have anything like that?
Sho: Nothing like that!
[writing: see Sho]
Sho: But have you ever had it happen where you went too far in imagining these things and upon meeting the person
said something like 'ah, it's been awhile huh~!' even though you've never met?
Megumi: That has happened too, in actuality, it has occurred.
Nino: Who was it?
Megumi: That was Aikawa Sho-san I suppose.
[writing: Aikawa Sho]
Megumi: There was a time when I really liked him, and I'd imagine us doing things like going for curry, or driving on
the beach, and when I actually met him I was about to say 'I was thinking about that time we went for curry'
That's what I was about to say, although I stopped myself...
Aiba: That's dangerous, being that genuine;P
[Announcer: Homework for Arashi. The audience has submitted requests of things they want Arashi to do, or to investigate.
writing: see Announcer]
Sho: So, Ohno-kun, will you please!
Ohno: Yes! This time, this email reached us.
[writing: Submission from Tetsuo-san in Kanagawa-ken; This is homework for the Arashi's work commanding officer,
Ohno-kun. Do you know of those interio decorating colliding balls? There are five steel balls in a row, and when
you crash the one on the end into the others the one at the other end goes flying and returns. And they'll keep
flying back and forth like that, that's the one. How many could you add on and still have it flying back and forth
like that? Please, by all means, tell me what that limit is!]
Ohno: see writing.
Jun: I see.
[writing: Ohno-kun produces a hand-made 'colliding ball' device. Announcer: Which is to say that this time Ohno-kun
produces a hand-made 'colliding ball' device. To challenge how many balls can be added on. First they'll try with
10 balls. writing: see Announcer.]
Sho: Do you think it'll work? I think it will-
Aiba: It'll work that far surely.
Nino: it'll work, it'll work.
Jun: It'll work won't it?
Aiba: For sure this will work.
Megumi: It seems like it'll work.
Ohno: Here I go!
Aiba: Yes.
[writing: Success!]
Aiba: Ah, it works ne.
Jun: It works nicely ne.
Ohno: Ten balls worked. But a weird phenomenon will happen.
[writing: see Ohno]
Ohno: If you take one on this side and two on this side and let them smack into the middle, two will go up on
this side and one ill go up on this side.
Megumi: Eh~?
Aiba: Eh, well then let's try it.
Ohno: Ready, and- look it did it.
Sho: Oh, it did it, it did it.
Megumi: Together-
Ogura: It's okay, cause when it's on air they'll slow it down.
[writing: see Ogura. (left) 2 balls, (right) 1 ball, when you watch it again in slow-motion... Announcer: So,
let's see it slowed down. On the left side where there were 2 balls only one flew up, while 2 flew up on the right side
where there was only one huh. And when it collides again it breaks back into the original 2 balls and 1 ball.
Exactly what reason is there? writing: Why does it happen like that? Capital University, Tokyo, department of
science and engineering, post graduate studies, Mizoguchi Shuuji ??. Announcer: When we ask Mizoguchi sensei of
Capital University, who is quite knowledgeable about physics...In the moment of impact first B and E have a rebound
reaction, in the next moment B and A also have a rebound reaction occur. Furthermore B's rebound powere acts on D
so that it looks like they separate into 1 on the left and two on the right. Ah, it's kind of intellectual huh.
Well, that's about enough of the difficult conversations, next they'll try with 25 balls. writing: Trying with
25 balls.]
Megumi: I don't think this one'll work...
Aiba: I don't think it'll work either...
Jun: I want it to work ne.
Ohno: So, shall I do it?
Jun: Let's try it and see.
Megumi: Yes.
Ohno: Ready, and-
All: Ohh~!
[writing: Success!]
Jun: At half pace.
Ohno: At half pace.
Megumi: It worked ne.
Aiba: Amazing-
[writing: Trying with 50 balls.]
Jun: It'll work!
[Announcer: Next they jump up by a factor of 2, they're trying with 50 balls. writing: Pay attention (arrow)]
All: Ohh!
[writing: Success! Announcer: This as well is a magnificent success.]
Aiba: Amazing!
[Announcer: How will it go, the challenge is once again doubled! They're trying with 100 balls. writing: Finally
trying with 100 balls! Announcer: In the end...]
Aiba: I kind of get the feeling this is impossible.
[writing: see Aiba]
Sho: But if it did it, it'd be amazing wouldn't it?
Aiba: Amazing ne.
Ohno: Ah! The people who think it will work?
Nino: Yes~.
Sho: This is...huge~...
Megumi: Ahh~....
Aiba: Ah, I'm still deliberating, which one will it be...
Jun: Amazing.
Ogura: It'll work!
Ohno: it'll work?
Megumi: it'll work.
Ogura: It'll work!
Aiba: All right, it'll work!
Sho: Let's everyone say it'll work!
Aiba: It'll work!
[writing: One spirit?!]
Nino: Everyone agrees it'll work!
Jun: Okay, it'll work!
Ohno: All right, it'll work!
Jun: Come on!
Ohno: Here I go!
All: Ohh~!
Megumi: Eh, it moved?
Sho: It moved.
Jun: It moved.
Aiba: It came, it came!
Ogura: It moved.
Aiba: It came just a little bit.
[writing: Great success! Pay attention (arrow) Announcer: With it's fairly vague movement Ohno-kun's hand-made
'colliding ball' device is magnificently in the clear.]
Aiba: So, dose the fact that it worked with 100 mean that it would work with any number?
[writing: see Aiba]
Ohno: I could only make up to 100.
[writing: see Ohno. {The law of conservation of momentum}, the energy of the collision will be transmitted as is,
theoretically you can add on an infinite number. Announcer: When we speak with Mizoguchi sensei again, he said
this is the {law of conservation of momentum}. Theoretically you can add on an infinite number. To be correct
though, in actuality the energy turns into sound (writing), so depending on the preciseness of the raw materials
and apparatus the repelling force grows weaker (writing). So with these about 3000 balls could be used, (precise
apparatus, 3000 balls) it seems hat with Ohno-kun's handmade bead appartus the limit is about 300 balls (writing).]
Sho: Please give us the experiment's result!
Ohno: Yes! The experiment's result is, my method of making it is a failure.
[writing: Experiment result, it works pretty good! All present are taken aback at her unexpected skill! Announcer:
After this Yassan reveals and displays an unexpected skill.]
Sho: It's almost the end but...
Megumi: Yes!
Sho: Please tell us an unexpected side of yourself Yassan.
[writing: Yassan; please tell us about an unexpected part of yourself!]
Megumi: Eh, that's right~, I, unexpectedly, specialize in tongue twisters.
[writing: Revealed, unexpectedly she specialises in tongue twisters.]
Jun: Though you speak that slowly...
Megumi: I kind of had the ideal of becoming an announcer, but my tongue was kind of slow, well it still is, so
I ended up taking some courses on it.
All: Eh~
[writing: Quick-talking practice in Announcer school]
Megumi: So at that time they gave me quick-talking practices to do.
Sho: So, for example...
Jun: So you can still do it now?
Sho: Ugly bus guide, bus gas explosion. (tongue-twister, busu basu gaido, basu gasu bakuhatsu)
[writing: see Sho]
Megumi: So 'ugly' goes along with this?
Jun: The ugly bus guide has nothing to do with it!
[writing: see Jun]
Nino: If they had that in announcer school I'd be very surprised.
Megumi: Ugly bus guide, bus bjwogwogh- wait a sec! What did I do?
[writing: Huh?]
Sho: What the heck? That's not unexpected or anything!
Jun: What the heck?;P
Megumi: Just wait a-
Nino: Hey Yasu-chan, what are you going to do about this?
Megumi: Ugly bus guide gsfghosighaowgn!
Sho: You can't say it!
Nino: You can't say it.
[writing: Completely gone.]
Jun: It's no good!
Sho: Ogura-san, please!
Ogura: This is a person I don't know that well ne.
[writing: see Ogura.]
Megumi: Is that so?
[writing: This week's Honor Student announcement! Announcer: After this the announcement of this week's honor
student. writing: This week's Shukudai-kun honor student is {Yassan what did you do last night? Got told by an
elderly person that she smells like the Showa era} by AnAn-san of Tokyo metro. area. Announcer: see writing.
writing: Submit info on {Different pot recipes}, {Unusual teas} that you know of. Announcer: see writing. writing:
Image homework, {what did you do alst night?} for Shibata Rie, Takada Mayuko. Announcer: see writing. writing:
Also recruiting couples with gaps such as height differences, weight differences, beauty and the beast; half-beauties.
Announcer: see writing.]
Megumi: (trying another tongue twister...and failing miserably;P)
Others: (mocking her)

Well, there's a whole show about food I'll never eat;P And she really does come across as airheaded ne? Trying those tongue-twisters and failing miserably, walking around with bloody sandals...Jun was even mocking her, I guess his DoS side just couldn't let that chance go;P The colliding ball experiement was pretty cool too...why did Ohno apologize?;) He was just fine....silly boy:)

Plus, the long-awaited translation of the latest Roadshow for the lovely [info]tenjostyle, thanks to her and 嵐's Vox for the huge scans:D

Again, I will post the scans first to make it easier to read:)

Cinema Roadshow, Serial Story Scene 18, {Dream heroes}
Arashi's Matsumoto Jun-kun, who likes movies that he can appreciate with others as well as himself, talks about
various thoughts on the movie theme in this cinema essay. The 18th session's theme is [Heroes]. To Matsumoto-kun
heroes are "beings that are able to inflame your soul", the keywords being [Monthly Shounen Jump] and [Giants
player Hara Tatsunori]. And, after all [Jack Sparrow]?!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

(Top right) A popular anime series' 3rd movie version. Songokuu, who has become the apprentice to a Tortoise
wizard, and Kuririn are aiming to be in a martial arts tournament. Matsumoto's point: [Although I like Goku,
despite bein formidable enemies at first I came to enjoy the way Kuririn and Yamcha, even Tenshinhan become like
supporting roles.]
If there were to be a discussion about 'wouldn't being a hero come out in a sqaudron?' I'd hesitate thinking,
'the summers are definitely hot...'. Ah, although I just imagined myself in the costume (laughs), for me heroes
aren't something that I "become", they're beings that are able to inflame me just by seeing them.
For a relatively recent subject, I like the world of [One Piece]. Starting with Luffy, who has become a devil-seed
eating elastic human, there's also a playfulness in the setting of the pirate clan characters, some pretty tearful
lines come out. The premise of the chef Sanji leaving the home of his master, of the pirate clan's Nico and Robin
chasing after the world government to rescue their friends, I found extremely moving.
When I was a child I was so into [Dragonball] that I used to think "I wonder when I'll be able to conquer the
Kamehame wave?" I saw it for the first time in [Toei Manga Festival], after that I started to watch the TV anime and
read the comics, the enemies and SonGoku gradually get stronger and stronger, at first it was about being in
the best martial arts association on earth and gathering dragonballs, but it became galactic in scope, an epic
story to the point where time machines and cyborgs were appearing. The dead characters would routinely come back to
life, I also enjoyed the naming such as Brief Doctorate and Bullheaded Special Brigade, I think the plots followed
each other well.
That same period, I really liked [Slam Dunk]. In episodic form, especially the ones that made me tearful like
the one filmed from the last volume with the competition against Yamaou Industries (?). In the very end, Hanamichi
and Ryuukawa appear very cool.
In the real world, at that time, former Giants player Hara Tatsunori-san was my hero ne. For baseball boys pro
baseball players are really admired. Other than that, when I was in grades 3 and 4 I knew of Michael Jordan.
What legs "Air Jordan" had. His plays were amazing after all ne.
Although I had a passing familiarity with American-type comic heroes like Batman and X-men and such games, I watched
the first [Batman] series in pretty much real-time. The items like the batmobile, his standing silouette, the
bat-mark on the searchlight calling up into the dark night, around when was in grade one that role was reflecting
in my eyes as extremely cool, even now that impression lingers.
But since seeing [Spiderman] upon becoming an adult, I received it strangely calmly ne. While thinking that sincerely
troubled youths, works with life-sized characters too, are very "now"...
Since strength and coolness aren't particularly proportionate within me, even if I'm defeated by my rivals, as long
as I have fortitude of spirit I can become a hero. Only, heroes are "dream" beings that no matter how hard you work
you can't become. "People you respect" are something different entirely ne.
In that sense, for the last 10 years there haven't been any heroes for me. ....or so I thought but, [Pirates of
the Carribean]'s Jack Sparrow is a type of hero huh~ (laughs).
(Bottom middle) [Spiderman] ('02) {credits} Matsumoto's point: [Although I wasn't particularly aware of it, when I
think about it I've seen both (1) and (2) huh. That in itself means it's an interesting piece ne.]
(Bottom left) Profile - Matsumoto Jun; Born in Tokyo metro. area, August 30th, 1983. '99 was his CD debut as a member
of Arashi. Since then he has exhibited talent in a wide variety of genres such as dramas, movies, and variety
shows. Right now he's in the middle of performing in [Utawara] (JapanTV), [Vanilla Kibun! (Second half, Mago MAgo
Arashi)] (FujiTV), and [Arashi no Shukudai-kun] (JapanTV). His first movie with a solo leading role [Boku wa
Imouto ni Koi wo Suru] is being released on the 20th of January, 2007. And the drama [Hana yori Dango 2 (returns)]
(TBS tv), will also be returning on air starting in January '07. With regards to Arashi, the 5 members' starring
youthful movie [Kiiroi Namida] is planned to be released in the spring of '07.

"The parts that everyone will watch with thumping hearts, I also felt my heart thumping for."
- Yori is a character admired by a lot of the original work's fans. Was there pressure?
[It can't be helped that I'm told my voice and visual appearance are different from the image. If I'm no good,
that also means the person who chose me was no good (laughs), to the point that there wasn't enough fighting spirit.
What I'm afraid of is being mistaken in my interpretation of the character. I was conscious of trying to push
the parts that everyone would recognize as the lowest common denominator.]
- It's really a difficult rolem being in love with your little sister, how did you approach it inside yourself?
[Although the sensation within myself of loving my little sister isn't real, for the time being I go onto the set
holding feelings of "I love you!". Beyond that, when I lay my eyes on the pictures of us from younger days,
different colored lunchboxes, I can feel the uniqueness of "The person I love is in a space I can't go". I pay no
attention to whether the camera is rolling or not, and because of that I was greatly able to make the sensations
come across.]
- What was the atmosphere with Eikura Nana-san?
[The sense of distance between myself and Nana-chan was probably linked to the sense of distance between Yori and
Iku. The way it is in the scene where we're both riding the bicycle together.]
- What were the scenes that made your heart thump as you were acting them?
[The parts that everyone watches with thumping hearts, I as well probably felt my heart thumping for. But, who
exactly is "I" (laughs). It could be myself, it could be Yori, I'm not really sure!]
- What are your feelings on seeing the finished product?
[Although we did numerous takes of 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and it was an extremely luxurious location, beyond what I had
imagined the flow of sensations was quite properly brought out on screen. The parts where there's no music the
breathing, the sound of the bed creaking make impressions, I felt because of the stripped-down, simple presentation
expressable things were there.]
Special, Boku wa Imouto ni, Matsumoto Jun. Profile: Born in Tokyo metro. area, August 30th, 1983. Dramas [Gokusen]
('02), [Hana yori Dango] ('05), movies [Pikanchi/Life is hard dakedo Happy] ('02), [Pikaanchi/Life is hard dakara
Happy] ('04), [Tokyo Tower] ('05) and others. Arashi's starring movie [Kiiroi Namida] is planned to be released
in spring of '07. In the middle of a serial essay in this publication "Matsumoto Jun's Cinema Sidewalk" (Please see
P.128-129).
*In the February issue (on sale Dec. 21st) we'll introduce [Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru] in detail!

I loved the part where he said when we was a child he thought about trying to defeat the Kamehame wave...so adorableX3 On that note....

Hehe, if you're referring to the one-shot gags in the Showa-ish part, well I knew one of them (Chotto Chotto Chotto) already, but the others I had to Google...^^; I always want to make the translations as perfect and enjoyable as possible, so I like to add those little bits in cause I think they make it more fun:) If you're referring to the tongue twister, I actually work with a guy who lived in Japan and he told me about it a few months ago, so it was super weird to see it here too...;P

Yeah, I hear it takes a lot of patience, good luck ne!:D
Hehe, I'm so glad my obsessiveness is actually useful;P

Your obsessiveness IS AWESOME!!!! <3333 It's a lot of fun doing subs with your translations

Anyway here's the subs for my version of video (174MB, 23:03 minutes)
http://www.sendspace.com/file/uy5cqa
I currently try to find the 226MB one in direct download, but failed until now X[... I also have this obsessiveness so the fans who downloaded 226MB can also enjoy the subs...

Haha, that's something I never thought I'd hear!:P I'm glad it helps though:)
The subs look very good...but they don't match up at all, so I can't say much about that unfortunately:S I tried looking for direct links but it seems they've expired, there's a 220mb version on Jpopsuki, all you have to do is sign up...but if you don't want to do it again I completely understand, that's a lot of work^^; Perhaps if you can post the link where you got your version than those who don't have it can download it with the subs?

Hmmm i think your idea is very very good. I can't dl from torrents so I download from arashianfiles or communities.. maybe someone in the comm or someone who visit your LJ daily (just like me LOL, in case there are new translations) would willing to help me and upload the 226MB version ^^

i really find it amazing that jun-chan hontou ni wants to become goku! ^^

i love dragon ball! it was my fave ages ago...so i'm surprised jun-chan like it too! [he's definitely younger than me! XD]

i remembered during their aozora pedal pv shoot, when his forehead was being drawn with dots (like that in one of dragon ball's characters...forgot his name ^^')...he was actually singing the theme! XDDDDD

then in the latest MMA talk...he really wanted to be goku when he was a kid...even until now!!! kawaiiiiii!!! XDDDDD

Some old friends of mine used to watch it, but at the time I wasn't into Anime so I didn't bother...:S And now it seems so hard to get into because there's so much of it, but I suppose I should at least take a look;P
Hehe, now I'll never look at that pic in the scarf the same again, that's too funnyXD
My pleasure!:D
